About this listen

Travel to the future - it will only cost you everyone you love.

Attacked and injected with a drug that slows his metabolism to a fraction of normal, Martin James becomes an unwilling time traveler who hurtles through the years. His children grow up, his wife grows older, and his only hope is finding the people who injected him in the first place - not an easy task when one day for Martin lasts four years. And while Martin James strives to find a cure before everyone he loves is gone, others are uncertain if his journey can be stopped at all.

W. Lawrence weaves a dystopian future filled with the best and worst of humanity, highlights the blessings and curses of technology, and pushes the limits of faith and hopelessness. Above all, Syncing Forward is a tale of one man's love for his family and their devotion to saving him from being lost forever.

Loved the story, much more emotional than I expected in places. Will Damron's voice is easy to hear and strangely and comfortingly familiar.
Definately worth a listen!

Enchanting unique story wonderfully read

The Spanglish women's voices were terrible, sorry to say, why not get someone like Lauren Vèlez to do these parts, it's such a sexy sound when done properly, terrible when done by a man.

Other than that, cracking good story, put a more detailed review on Goodreads, definitely credit worthy of the acollades and awards it has received.

5 star Story, cringworthy narration

However a strong start and finish. Could be a bit more action oriented without risking making it dumb.

Quite heavy in the middle

very sad but enjoyed

Ironically I found myself 'syncing this book forwards' listening on 1.5 speed as I found it quite slow at times.

The ending was also pretty poor imo

Interesting idea, not greatly done

I really enjoyed this book, it is a poignant, humanised sci-fi time travel tale. It is more focussed on the humanity in of such a thing than being flashy or too bogged down in detail. At its core is a believable balanced human being, and you feel every up.and down he experiences. I would recommend this to non sci-fi fans also.

Very good, different take on time travel

The story is very clever and I loved parts of the descriptions of the future and his travel through time but it was a very depressing read, it was 70% death 20% excitement and 10% positive. Was a bit of a struggle and a bit disappointing at the end!

Depressing

brilliant absolutely brilliant.

I thoroughly enjoyed with book. A fantastic high concept story with a very human heart. While the book covers some of very plausible ideas on how technology is developing and all the
ethical problems we are likely to face, it's the human story of the main character moving through time that grabs you and will not let go. Great read.

A fantastic high concept story
