About this listen

After two years and too many lost troops, Navy medic Max de Milles is ready to go home. Her last tour is up in four days and she will soon be catching a transport to the States. Life is looking good until she gets detailed to evacuate a humanitarian group in south Somalia.

Rachel Winslow and her Red Cross team are caught in the crossfire during a vicious civil uprising, but she refuses to abandon her team members as the rebels close in on their camp. By the time Max and the Black Hawk arrive, it may already be too late.

Hunted by extremists, Max and Rachel are forced to work together if they are to survive, and in the process, discover something far more lasting.

Romance, navy medic and connected care worker. The story is good a lot of it taken place during a rescue attempt at an aid camp. I wont say much about it, as its a pretty straight forward Radcliffe romance. I would have given the story more stars except that some of the plot devices seemed rushed and did not fit as well as other Radclyffe stories. If you have not read Radclyffe , I would recommend starting with the Honor series.

traditional romance Radclyffe style

I love the way Radcliffe writes. This book leads one into a jungle of lust and fear but ends with love. A fast moving and very descriptive tale. I loved listening to it.

Yet another awesome book.

I have enjoyed the Author and loved her storylines and it makes the experience even better by Abby's narration. The best narrator out there and I feel she brought life to the wonderful characters that was so perfectly penned.

Loved it

I don't think I can do this justice with my words but this story and narration are utter perfection. It's a stand alone story part of a series but its also the stand out story for sure. I loved the previous Betsy Zajko narration but goodness it shows when a quality narrator takes the reins.

Just amazing.

really brilliant story line of spooks getting it wrong again, really good characters you can see in your mind and really brilliant narration 👍

Love this book and the series but not mad in the narration of Rachel- I just don’t see her as a breathy “girly” woman who sounds permanently needy. Each to their own but wasn’t for me.

I do like the writing of Radclyffe, but the final part of this story was a let down given the synopsis.

The story seemed to be a drama/thriller given the written synopsis, and so I decided to give it a try. Sadly like so many of the lesbian books out there the drama fizzled out and got bogged down by unnecessary erotica. For whatever reason far too many stories seem to be no more than soft porn these days. I know erotica has its place, but I hate it when you read/listen to a book expecting a drama/thriller/western/crime and you end up with it falling into nothing more than the soft porn category.

The synopsis could do with reflecting that it really ends up as an erotic book. I had high hopes for this story returning to the dramatic likes of 'Innocent Hearts' and 'Promising Hearts'. Now those are two books I would love to see make their way onto the Audible catalog.

So for those of us who don't mind a bit of erotica in the story, but hate when that's all a story ends up as, books like these become a real disappointment.

Disappointed by last third of story.

I Struggled to the end, dragged too much for my liking, not all bad thou.

A Madly in love after a whole 2 minutes book.
