Excellent

Glad I ignored some of the reviews. I really enjoyed listening to this and look forward to further tales featuring some of the minor characters from these wonderful books.

Interesting Collection of Shorts

Obviously, with any shorts there are some stronger efforts than others. I'm completely new to Ben Aaronovitch and his world building in 'The Rivers...' collections, without knowing where to start I discovered 'Rare and Cunning Device' separately, which also features here. So far, I feel that the Peter Grant led stories speak to me with more of a voice (and are the strongest by the audiobook actors on display). My least favourite, story/character and performance was 'Dedicated Follower of Fashion' by some distance - but this is entirely down to preference, and by no means weak.

A fantastic addition to the Rivers of London world

This book shows us so many hidden parts of the world and the stories are so well crafted.
The readers are well selected and the voices run clear in the ear as suitable to each person. I really hope you get the same voice artist for the What abigail sod that summer. Thank you Ben I really loved this addition.

short foray into the folly or a folly for cash?

Make up your own mind, if you like ROL you'll buy it anyway. It's a trap for fans. I liked it genuinely. found it engaging and fun but I wasted a whole credit on 4 hours. Felt like a bit of cash in, oh bung it out there while the franchise is hot property. whatcha got ben? oh some bits and bobs. Ok i'll take it but get back to work Aaronovitch, nothing under 6 hours next or else.

enjoyable

nice to have snippets into other characters lives always a treat to have material in spoken form so this was a joy.
I just wish the author would produce the graphic novels in spoken form as he has these short stories.
I cannot read the graphic novels as well as I can his books, my brain doesn't scan the graphic format well.

A fabulous short story collection.

What's not to love about Ben Aaronovitch's work. Add in Kobna's dolcette tones and you have perfection.

Lovely little extra

Purely for the fans, if you haven't experienced the rest of the books, this won't be for you. If you have, then please listen.
