About this listen

The sun is out, and the beach huts at Everdene Sands are filling up once again.

Jemima is artist in residence for the summer, capturing the antics of the holiday makers on canvas. But it's not long before she becomes embroiled in their tangled lives.

Vince and Murphy are best mates, and misspent their youths in the waves and bars of Everdene. Now they are making plans for The Lobster Shack, eager to make their fortune. But Vince's life has been touched by tragedy, and he's finding it hard to move on. Meanwhile, Murphy finds himself in water hotter than he can handle...

Sidonie Lewis has returned to Everdene hoping to bury the past. The memory of her wedding day there is a painful one. Now she is ready to marry again, but she needs one final reconciliation first - and it's the hardest one of all.

Tom and Rachel divided everything straight down the middle when they divorced - everything except their beach hut. But sharing it is proving more difficult than they thought.

It's going to be a summer to remember...

I was there!

Wonderful interlinking stories. I could smell the salty air, feel the warm sun and sea breezes - I was there!

Gentle but gripping Summer seaside story

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thought I'd find it hard to remember all the different characters, but they all made their mark, and a good story.

if only!

I love Veronica Henry's books but this one isn't one of my favourites.
it's a good book to listen to but I didn't gel with the characters very much.
The story lines for each of the people dipicted were a little too 'perfect'for my taste and I felt it came across twee.
saying that, it was pleasant enough...

Escape to a holiday romance

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

You can escape a busy stressful life with Veronica Henry's seaside stories.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Vince. He was a rock solid character who when he realised that everybody else was sorted went out to get himself a life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I listen to them on my way to work and consider just driving past.

Any additional comments?

There'e just enough characters in her books to stretch your memory trying to remember each persons story.

Nostalgic

A good story or stories, but changed from one to another and in places became confusing and disjointed

Easy relaxed reading

Great narrator and excellent story. This is a fab book for lazing in the sun and relaxing with. I have also read The Beach Hut by the same author which I thoroughly enjoyed.
It comprises of stories of the characters in a seaside resort who all own beach huts but the stories intertwine.
Well worth reading and I'm going to try some more by this author.
