There is something lurking in the trees....
A winter storm has buried North Dakota in snow and ice. With accidents being reported across the region, Deputy Ron Weller must patrol along the main road through a normally tranquil forest in Beeman County. The night grows menacing as he discovers vehicles that have been run off the road, their drivers mysteriously missing. Strange tracks lead through a region of thick forest known as Devil's Rock. There, Weller makes a horrifying discovery.
A monster has awakened. Its hunger is insatiable, and its ferocity has no limits.
Protected by an armored exoskeleton, the beast is relentless in its pursuit of prey. It must feed or face starvation. What has started as a search for a missing driver has now become a fight for survival, as Ron Weller is hunted by the Beast of Devil's Rock.

Suspense filled
I very rarely write reviews. But this book was outstanding. The narrator was amazing and the story line was easy enough to follow. I completed the book in three nights as it was spellbinding and at times felt I was in the story, curling my toes and gripping the arms of the chair. This would make an excellent movie. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic
Just a pity the characters couldn’t hear me yelling what to do at them ( that means I liked it enough to start yelling)

The terror
Wasn’t sure what was going to happen and found it slow going. Then the story burst into life and was one of the most horrific stories I have listened to for a long time. Very graphic but you could see the scene as you were listening

Average but enough fun
I heard this for free in the plus catalogue. it's fine, but if a monster romp, not very inspired, didn't really connect with the characters.

A well read story, it romps along at a fast pace, enjoyable but not a great deal of character development, a good choice for a long car journey.

Excellent
Not for the faint hearted and it’s really gory…right up my street! Didn’t expect it to be so good, pleasantly surprised. It’s in audibles free catalog alongside a few more from this author. Away to download them.

Never lets up!
This had my attention from the beginning.

Deputies vs Giant Spider
This is my third Cole book and by far it's the best. It all takes place during one night in the middle of nowhere during a snow storm. Sheriff Deputies take on a giant man eating spider. As ridiculous as it sounds, it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Action packed and very enjoyable.

Really engaging story
I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book. Not really my usual thing and the “monster” was a bit bizarre but the story was really engaging and the narration was great, combining to make it hard to stop listening. Well worth a listen.
