Summary

Traditional Qabalistic sources (or Cabalistic, or, indeed, Kabbalistic - listen to this book to find out what the difference is...we know you've always wondered!) tend to be a bit, er, dry. Lon Milo DuQuette spices up the Qabalah and makes it come alive, restoring the joy of learning the fundamentals of this admittedly arcane system by using simple, amusing anecdotes and metaphors. This account, written pseudepigraphically (fictitiously attributed to a supposed authority), allows DuQuette as Rabbi Lamed Ben Clifford to soar to outrageous heights and, when necessary, stand apart from the silliness to highlight the golden eggs of Qabalistic wisdom nested therein. Sure to be a revelation to those who think that learning about the Qabalah needs to be tedious and serious, The Chicken Qabalah of Rabbi Lamed Ben Clifford shows that great truths can be transmitted through the medium of laughter.

Unexpectedly Excellent

I wasn’t sure about this to start with but it’s a very good book on Kabbalah and approaches it in an unusual way, but I found it much easier to grasp than other very serious books, which now make sense

A Magical Permission Slip

The Chicken Qabalah gave me a metaphorical permission slip to beliefs my ego would not stop doubting. It's ultimately a silly little book, but the wisdom is absolutely there. I am not Jewish, religious, or even an occult practitioner really, even if I have been calling myself a Witch for almost 6 years now and I can still find the Wisdom in this nifty little book. Definitely worth a listen if you are at all interested in philosophy, religion, magic, the occult, life, people or even math.

Excellent primer for Generation X

Give to me simple and with a healthy dose of sex, irony or humour or don't give it to me at all. Only the last chapter about Gematria lost my interest. Excellent performance, occult classic.

Well read and brilliant.

Humourous and a treasure trove of easily understood information. Best ever! A must for those interested in occult philosophy and even those just curious. Elevate you mind and understanding quick before it goes out of print!

Unmissable, for the hatchling Qabalist!

This a shrewd guide to the Qabalist - delivered in the style of a colloquial yarn. I bought this to further illuminate my understanding of Dion Fortune's iconic tome. This book REALLY delivered.
