Summary
From best-selling author Kandi Steiner comes a cozy second-chance romance about love, loss, and adventure....
When I decided to surprise my family in Wellhaven, Vermont, for Christmas, I never could have known that I'd get a surprise of my own - in the form of an unexpected blizzard.
I haven't been home in four years, not since I left this town with my eyes set on adventure. And my heart set on forgetting the only man I’ve ever loved.
River Jensen - my ex-husband.
I don't plan on seeing him during my visit. I definitely don't plan on him saving me when my little rental car slides off the icy road. And the last thing I could have ever prepared for is being stuck in a tiny cabin with him, waiting out the storm.
Four years have passed since I've seen him - the boy I loved, now a man I don't know at all. But being stuck inside with him leaves us nothing but time together.
Everything about him has changed, and yet, he still has the same forest green eyes that have haunted me since I left. Back then, we were at an impasse. Back then, there was nothing left to talk about, nothing left to fix. Back then, the only choice I had was to leave and start anew.
But the more I rediscover the man I left behind, the more I question why I ever left at all.
And if I’m too late to find my way back home.
The Christmas Blanket is a stand-alone holiday novella set in a snowy small town in Vermont.

A giant christmas hug
This book is literally a giant Christmas hug!
When Eliza comes home to surprise her family for Christmas, the last thing she thought would happen, happened. Being stuck in a cabin with her ex-husband, River. Little did she know, this may be her best adventure yet.
I loved this short Christmas story. It was an amazing comfort read. This is the first book I've read from this author however it won't be the last.

River and Eliza!
River and Eliza fell in love when they were teenagers and married when they were 18. They thought the love they shared would see them through the difficulties they faced as they tried to build a life together however different dreams and responsibilities tore them apart.
Four years later Eliza is back in her hometown when a snowstorm leaves her stranded with her ex-husband. As they spend time together all the reasons that they fell in love in the first place resurface but will this be their second chance or are they destined for heartbreak once again?
This is an inspiring and emotional journey about realizing what and who you need in your life to be happy. River and Eliza have always belonged together and with a little maturity and clarity they may just realize that as well. I thought the narrator did a great job with the story and it was easy to differentiate each character’s point of view.

Second chances are a wonderful Christmas present!
Eliza has always had the wanderlust bug. Even after marrying her high school sweetheart, the day to day struggles in a small town just made her want to get out and see what else there was in the world. Now divorced, she is 4 years later to surprise her family for Christmas, but the surprise is on her!. When River sees her stuck on the side of the road in a blizzard, he takes her home. Now stuck in the cabin, with their dog and her ex-husband, Eliza finds out exactly the meaning of Christmas! Talk about good timing, Kandi Steiner's Christmas Blanket is the perfect present. It encompasses all the things I love, from second chances, being stranded together and best of all my favorite holiday! It's the kind of story you want to sit on the couch, cuddled up with some hot chocolate to enjoy. I loved River and Eliza and of course, Moose!
Hannah Chiclana brings out the holiday spirit in her narration of this gem. It's my first listen by her and she has a very pleasant voice. She emotes all the feelings and her voices are easily distinguishable. I will be watching for more of her performances.
