Summary
What went wrong with WCW?
In 1997, World Championship Wrestling was on top. It was the number-one pro wrestling company in the world, and the highest-rated show on cable television. Each week, fans tuned in to Monday Nitro, flocked to sold-out arenas, and carried home truckloads of WCW merchandise. Sting, Bill Goldberg, and the New World Order were household names. Superstars like Dennis Rodman and KISS jumped on the WCW bandwagon. It seemed the company could do no wrong.
But by 2001, however, everything had bottomed out. The company - having lost a whopping 95% of its audience - was sold for next to nothing to Vince McMahon and World Wrestling Entertainment. WCW was laid to rest.
How could the company lose its audience so quickly? Who was responsible for shows so horrible that fans fled in horror? What the hell happened to cause the death of one of the largest wrestling companies in the world? The Death of World Championship Wrestling is the first book to take listeners through a detailed dissection of WCW's downfall.

Fantastic sad journey
Fantastic in depth, thorough telling of the rise and fall of a company I grew up watching as a kid. Hilarious at times and horribly sad at other moments. A great listen

excellent
what a story, expertly told. hilarious throughout, it's amazing to think of just how many mistakes were made and continue to be made to this day. the similarities between WCW and AEW are incredible. Mr Kahn would do well to listen and take heed

Solid researching, sometimes hard to follow
Very in depth and jaw dropping in places with just how stupid some of the decisions made were. Occasionally feels a little disjointed, by referencing events that haven't yet been explained, then skipping back, but otherwise a solid piece.
The narrator talks very fast and unclear at times - coupled with somehow adding an extra syllable each time he says "W", it makes all references of WCW quite garbled and the speed of talking meant that some skipping back was needed to follow the flow of the stories.

The Death of WCW
Dwarf of WCW was my first audio book and looking back it's probably still one of my favourites. Bryan is informative and narrates the book well. If you are a fan of his podcasts this is definitely an audiobook for you!

A veritable wrestling bible
Incredible, this is legitimately an A-Z of WCW and somethings in-between. For any wrestling fan this is a must own, and for any casual fan the humour found in a lot of the incompetency of a big business like WCW will entertain you throughout.

Sublime!
I knew a lot of what went on in WCW, but this audiobook gives an incredible amount of detail of what went on in the peak and dying days of WCW.

A must for any wrestling fan
Struggled to understand some of the ratings figures, but once you comprehend the scale it becomes self explanatory. a comprehensive history that touches on some well publicised, and some not, aspects of the WCW and WWF.
Well narrated and never a chore.
