About this listen

Siege of Terra Book 8, Part 2

Volume II picks up right where the first left off, with cataclysmic events building up to an epic conclusion that will shake the very galaxy to its core.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

The final battle aboard the Warmaster’s flagship has begun in earnest, as Sanguinius defies his fate and the Dark Gods in an attempt to end his brother’s life, and the war along with it.

THE STORY

Terra is besieged. The outcome of the war lies on a knife edge. The Warmaster Horus’ bloody seven-year crusade has led to this – the cradle of humanity, where he is to kill his father, the Emperor.

With the war at this critical juncture, Sanguinius, primarch of the loyalist Blood Angels, braves the horrors of the Warmaster’s flagship, The Vengeful Spirit, with a single purpose in mind – to slay his brother Horus, decapitate the Heresy once and for all, and stop the forces of Chaos from taking Terra.

But at the whim of a Warmaster fallen so far from grace, the Dark Gods will not make Sanguinius’ task easy. As the war edges towards its explosive, bloody conclusion, events are about to unfold that could either save humanity or plunge it headlong into an eternity of darkness.

Too much filler

Things are where they shouldn’t be I’m 7 hours in… I get it. Should have only been 2 books

A great middle book for the finale

Obviously stellar performance by Jonathan Keeble, overall story is a little slow at points but the last half keeps you with bated breath, cannot wait for Part 3

Stunning

Was not sure at first but as it goes on you completely get sucked in. A masterpiece and I preferred it much more than the first part. You have to go with it and once you let you mind adjust a little the dissonance enhances everything.

Good but a lot of filler

I would be lying if I said I did not enjoy this book, I thoroughly enjoyed but it just felt like it could have been more compact

The suspense!!!

What an absolute thrill and a joy to hear! Jonathan Keeble is definitely the best voice actor for this and even knowing how the story might end - it still leaves the listener in suspense! It was an absolute joy and I can't wait for the last book!

Ahriman

Great book, Dan Abnett and Jonathan Keeble are an insane combo!
Ahriman was like the most interesting character, sad we get so little of him. Hopefully we have more on him in the future.

Wonderfully convoluted

Another fantastic instalment in Dan Abnett's series.
It is a wonderfully convoluted mosaic of interlacing stories, with multiple storylines converging at this final act of the Horus Heresy. There are some eye opening moments and unexpected turns of events. There are also many seeds sown for stories set 10 thousand years later, some still awaiting conclusion. A must-read certainly.
Jonathan Keeble does an excellent job as always as well!
