Summary

In this thrilling second book of the Earthborn trilogy, Lucas and Asha have survived the decimation of Earth at the hands of the invading Xalans and seek safe haven with their enemy's true foes, the Sorans. They find a lush planet inhabited by a civilization far more advanced than their own, waging a seemingly endless war against a constantly evolving enemy. The Sorans call the pair of them the "Earthborn", and they're welcomed as heroes, almost as gods. To an audience of billions, they swear an oath to avenge their fallen planet by aiding the Sorans in their war against Xala.

But soon Lucas and Asha find Sora just as dangerous as apocalyptic Earth when they're targeted by the Fourth Order, a rebel collective who decries them as false prophets and harbingers of further bloodshed. Their friend and turncoat Xalan scientist, Alpha, believes he's located someone who can help them turn the tide of the war for good, stranded on a conquered colony planet. But landing on the new world, Lucas and Asha find themselves hunted by a violent, mysterious beast known only as the Desecrator, let loose by the Xalans.

Escaping Earth was only the beginning. As Lucas and Asha quickly learn, the universe has worlds and creatures far more dangerous than anything their home planet could have offered, and their continued survival hinges on gaining new allies they never could have imagined.

Great listen

This is book 2 of the trilogy and usually book 2 is just making way for the final part of the trilogy, but this had everything, love, war, sacrifice, friendship and the rise against corrupt governments whom usually think they know better than the great unwashed. Loved this cannot wait until the next installment, really worth the credit.

Fabulous

Following on seamlessly from book 1, with detailed description that gives the reader more volume and interaction within the story, the continued pace from beginning to end keeps getting better and better as the adventure and battle unfolds right up to the final words that end book 2, Only one more in this trilogy, Oh dear, then it's back to the search for another exciting book (s)
Brilliant story, great characters, fast paced without boring fudge filling to add bulk, surprise and a bit of gore, great stuff.☺

Wow! What a sequel

The first book was good. This book however was great. I will not say any more I don’t want to give away spoilers. All I will say is it’s a total rollercoaster of a book. My heart rate went up literally in the final chapters. Roll on book 3.

Great middle book.

Picks up brilliantly from where the first book left off. It's exactly what I wanted to read next. Loved it.

incredible

The second book/film/game is usually the best in the trilogy and that doesn't change here or does it... I loved the new characters and place's introduced in this book. Victor Bevine did another fantastic job.
