Summary
The Earth lies in ruins in the aftermath of an extraterrestrial invasion, the land devastated by a desperate war with no winners between mankind and a race of vicious, intelligent creatures. The seas are drying up while the atmosphere corrodes and slowly cooks any life remaining on the now desolate rock. Food is scarce, trust even more so, and the only people left alive all have done horrific things to stay that way.
Among the few survivors is Lucas, an ordinary man hardened by the last few years after the world's end. He's fought off bandits, murderers, and stranded creatures on his long trek across the country in search of his family, the one thing that drives him to outlive his dying planet. What he finds instead is hope, something thought to be lost in the world. There's a ship buried in a crater wall. One of theirs. One that works. To fly it, Lucas must join forces with a traitorous alien scientist and a captured, merciless raider named Asha. But unless they find common ground, all will die, stranded on a ruined Earth.
Combining gritty post-apocalyptic survival and epic space opera, The Last Exodus is the beginning of a new action-packed science fiction adventure where the future of the human race depends on its survivors leaving the past behind.

This book will not disappoint
If you are like me and like a good space opera book filled with technology and space travel but with a story that is believable, then this is the book for you. A well written story that allows you submerge into this universe and follow the characters with ease. Some books are an effort to believe or get into but this one flows just right and was a joy to listen too. Roll on the next 2 in this trilogy.

Kept me awake.
Absolutely loved it. First listen and it has shot straight into my top 5 audiobooks. Fantastic. I would promise myself a chapter per night but it was so brilliant that I constantly broke that promise.

Excellent, an unique story
This will only be a brief review as I want to continue the story in the next book.
This story line does not follow the typical post apocalyptic tale of near defeat of the planet Earth but for the heroic deeds of a group of people from very different backgrounds and personalities who are forced to band together and at the last minute defeat the planet destroying aliens and save what is left of Humanity and working together start to repair the Earth using the aliens advanced technology.
In this case the wicked aliens have taken so much water the oceans are drained and have mined so deeply and recklessly volcanoes are poisoning the atmosphere leaving the planet hopelessly uninhabitable and beyond repair.
All that has escaped from Earth are two strangers, one man and one woman in a spacecraft piloted by an alien scientist who is sickened by so much destruction.
To find out more read the book, which will not disappoint.
Here's hoping book two continues in the same fashion. I will let you all know if if does in a few days time.

Got me out if a reading slump
Easy to listen to, quick and event packed story. I wish there was a bit more character shading and developing on the human characters.

Simple, yet enjoyable
The story is fairly basic, with little by way of character development. It was clearly written as the now obligatory trilogy. The narrator is good, but not great. I'm not sure if I would spend a credit on book two.
