Summary
About the audiobook:
The Worldship Humility is the start of The Code trilogy, written exclusively for audio by sci-fi author R. R. Haywood. Narrator Colin Morgan brings the colourful characters and treacherous escapades of The Worldship Humility to life, a gripping space adventure which will appeal to fans of Ready Player One, Bladerunner and Haywood’s previous best-selling works, Extracted and The Undead.
Summary:
It’s been 120 years since the 50 or so worldships containing the few million survivors set off after planet Earth was destroyed by a meteor.
On the Worldship Humility, Sam, an Airlock Operative, is bored. Living in space should be full of adventure, except it isn’t, and he fills his time hacking 3-D movie posters.
Petty thief Yasmine Dufont is also from the WS Humility, but she is not bored. Growing up in the Elfors, the lawless lower levels of the ship, has seen her surrounded by violence and squalor since birth, and now she wants out. She wants to escape to the luxury of the Ab-Spa on top of WS Abstinence, where they eat real food instead of rats and synth cubes.
Meanwhile, the sleek-hulled, unmanned Gagarin has come back from punching out ahead of the fleet in the ever-continuing search for a new home. Nearly all hope is lost that a new planet will ever be found, until the Gagarin returns with a code of information that suggests a habitable planet has been found. This news should be shared with the whole fleet, but a few rogue captains want to keep the information to themselves and colonise the new planet.
When Yasmine inadvertently steals the code, she and Sam become caught up in a dangerous game of murder, corruption, political wrangling and...porridge, with sex-addicted Detective Zhang Woo hot on their heels, his own life at risk if he fails to get the code back.

About the Author
A beard-keeping, caffeine befuddled, dog owning writer, and currently one of the top authors in the UK, with over a million books downloaded. He is the creator of The Undead. A self-published series that has become a cult hit with a readership that defies generations and gender. He is also immensely proud for his Extracted series. A world-wide best-selling time-travel series now optioned for a TV series by a major LA based media company. He hides his face because firstly, his beard is very ginger, and secondly, he's still involved in law-enforcement.
"My main love in writing comes from pushing ordinary people into extraordinary situations and seeing how they react, and in so doing, you see the pure goodness of unselfish acts and how only by working together can people ever really achieve everything they need."
- R.R. Haywood, on the impact of the post-apocolyptic setting."“Sam hacking the 3D adverts in the retail zone"

Best book I’ve listened to in ages
What makes this book without doubt is the Narrator Colin Morgan, his use of accents is fabulous, his timing and delivery of the laughs is also fabulous.
The story itself is very well written I thought, with great character development.
This is in my top 3 audible books without doubt
I really hope there is a second book coming.

Not my usual
Not my usual sort of purchase, but I really enjoyed it. The performance is one of the best I've heard on here. The book feels like a slow burn at the start but give it a chance to set the world up and it's well worth it. Can't wait for part 2. Highly recomend.

Huge fun.
R. R. Haywood is a new sci-fi author to me, but I really enjoyed this. It is quite light and concentrates on the characters and setting (an ark ship) rather than the science. The people are likeable and funny, the situations and plot develop nicely, and Colin Morgan's narration is excellent, voicing multiple characters, accents and male and female roles with apparent ease. An easy 5/5 all the way. I purchased book 2 after just 3 hours of listening to this one and will get into that straight away, even though my habit is to listen in order of purchase. I'm smitten!

Highly entertaining
This was a good entreating story. Not top rate fiction, but very enjoyable after all. You really got to like the characters and it moved along with pace. I really want to try Porridge and Jam now! I want the next episode soon to be able to follow the final outcome. Well worth 4 stars - a good read/listen

overall entertaining
Bit of a disappointing ending and too many and too much detail in fight scenes but overall entertaining with some funny moments.
