About this listen
Following in the tradition of Clive Cussler and Matthew Reilly, Andy McDermott takes us on a rollercoaster ride in search of the legendary Atlantis.
Archaeologist Nina Wilde believes she has found the location of the lost city of Atlantis, and now she wants the opportunity to prove her theory. Someone else though wants her dead!
With the help of ex-SAS bodyguard Eddie Chase and beautiful heiress Kari Frost, Nina faces a breakneck race against time around the world, pursued at every step by agents of the mysterious and murderous Brotherhood of Selasphoros. From the jungles of Brazil to the mountains of Tibet, from the streets of Manhattan to the depths of the Atlantic Ocean, the hunt for Atlantis leads to a secret hidden for 11,000 years which in the wrong hands could destroy civilization as we know it....

Great action story - irritating lead female
Fantastic Indiana Jones/Lara Croft/Da Vinci Code/Mission Impossible fashion, brilliantly narrated. But why oh why did Nina have to be such a whiney drip?

Atlantis at last
Well the story between Nina and Atlantis stems back to childhood, but with a team she plans to pick up where her parents started.
The balance between crime, history, murder and a touch of romance worked really well. Nina, Carrie and Chase make great roles, and you can’t help but love them all. I’m eager to find out which ancient stories they track down next. Indiana Jones meets sci-fi bond

enthralling lively pace.
the narration moved with the lively pace and to be fair Indiana Jones meets audible!a slow beginning but then I found that I was drawn into the actual story even though I found it towards the end very improbable.

Great series, highly recommend
If Compo (last of the summer wine) had a grandson who was an SAS hero who meets Indiana Jones’s granddaughter, then this is about what you’d get.
It’s a fun listen, and the backstory historical contexts are very well written and researched. It has plot holes you could fly an Antonov through, and action scenes that would make the writers of Arnie’s Commando think that’s stretching credulity just a bit too much. But, it’s a fun ride, a great, fun series to listen to.
The later books do get a wee bit silly mind you, (even with what I said before) and are set well into the future - last one I listened to was set in 2030. But still, cracking series I’ve throughly enjoyed.
While I’m here; Andy, British soldiers do not salute unless they’re in uniform and wearing head dress!
