About this listen

When Bingo falls in love at a Camberwell subscription dance and Bertie Wooster drops into the mulligatawny, there's work for a wet-nurse. Who better than Jeeves?

This is the first Jeeves and Wooster story "Plum" ever wrote. Wodehouse weaves his wit through a wide collection of terrifying aunts, miserly uncles, love-sick friends, and unwanted fiancés.

Bertie gets into a bit of trouble when one of his pals, Bingo Little, starts to fall in love with every second girl he lays his eyes on. But the soup gets really thick when Bingo decides to marry one of them and enlists Bertie's help. Luckily, he has the inimitable Jeeves to pull him out of it.

Critic reviews

"By far the most prolific audiobook interpreter of P.G. Wodehouse's comic English manor-house tales, Frederick Davidson here offers a performance superior to most of his other efforts....Aunt Agatha alone is worth the price of admission." ( AudioFile)

A great book with a set of great and entertaining stories in a world we'd most likely love to spend some time in as everything has a happy ending.

I personally enjoy the Frederick Davidson readings, I have read reviews by people who don't but to me the English accents just go well with the stories.

With it being included in audible unlimited then if you are a fan of Wodehouse then I recommend you give it a listen.

One of my favourites in the Jeeves collection

Dashing good show Jeeves. Excellent set of easy listening stories by the inimitable PG. Worcester and his pal Bingo in the usual scrapes and good old Jeeves there to pull them out.

Jeeves

This narrator, Frederick Davidson, is my favourite Jeeves and Wooster. Better than Stephen Fry and Martin Jarvis! Just brilliant. The stories really cheered me up.

Brilliant performance, great fun

Fun, punchy and full of warm wit. The only downside is the performance doesn't quite match up to Cecil's versions

An enjoyable reading

Spot on

Beautifully read and of course the real Wodehouse in story, and turn of phrase. No-one writes quite like him and it takes a special kind of reader to pull it off. Well done!

Delightful escapism!

Would you listen to The Inimitable Jeeves again? Why?

Narration of some parts is very good and definitely a repeat listen.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ofcourse its Jeeves

What about Frederick Davidson’s performance did you like?

His way of reliving the old accents and the phrases.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not particularly moved but the overall experience was a great one.

Great narration and a treat for all Jeeves fans
