Summary

Alex Rogers is a young, intelligent workaholic who jumped from high school to college to a technical career with little time for a personal life. With his dog Kinsey, he pursues his only vice, wandering in the wilderness areas of Washington State, dreaming of adventure.

Without warning, he and Kinsey find themselves in an unfamiliar land, unable to speak the language and fighting for their lives. It is here that Alex discovers he has been dropped in the middle of an ancient struggle for power, in a land where magic replaces science. If he can survive the near future, he has the potential to become a great wizard feared by the very people he needs to protect.

Good audio book and well read

Expect more books from the author as he is one I have been watching since he came out with the Alice books, which are brilliant btw.

quite terrible

Fast paced drivel. Reminds me of a story passed down over generation's and the details have been lost and just the general idea is left, or maybe the author is 12. This is shameful considering a 14 year old wrote Eragon.

Weak!!

I do not write reviews, but all the good reviews for this are really misleading. So, overall the story is shallow, and there’s no depth to any character. Now, I’m really not a writer, but after all the other stories out there such as “Cradle“ (from the same narrator I might add), you expect a certain level of quality from a author that’s made it to audible. I understand that there is a need for content... once you’ve read all best stories out there, you’re hungry for the next thing to get lost in.
BUT, if you’re reading this, then I am telling you, this is not what you’re looking for. The world building is poor, (with all the references to Britain it might as well have been set there). There’s little explanation as to how the world mechanics work. There is a love story that develops this deep destiny romance in a few chapters, which I don’t mind, but in this case really doesn’t draw me into the story it’s more like a distraction to the story. The battle scene is poorly done, and there loads more things I can moan about.
But, I will simply just finish the review with, DO NOT WATSE YOUR MONEY/CREDIT!!!
