Summary

Former FBI agent Rachel Walling is in Italy when she gets the call she's been dreading for four years. The Poet is back. And he has not forgotten Rachel. He has a special present for her.

Harry Bosch is adjusting to life in Las Vegas as a private investigator and a new father. He gets a call, too, from the widow of a friend who died recently. Previously in his FBI career, the friend worked on the famous case tracking the killer known as The Poet. That fact makes some of the elements of his death doubly suspicious.

This novel places Michael Connelly's much loved hero, Harry Bosch, square in the path of the most ruthless and inventive murderer he has ever encountered. It is a spectacularly dramatic and shocking novel that should take Michael Connelly to the No. 1 slot on the Sunday Times best seller list.

Excellent book

I found this book that I couldn't put down, the ending certainly has a twist, I really appreciate the narrative by David Soul, he made Harry come alive, looking forward to the next one

Fantastic!

This is an absolute page turner! Beautifully written, and - whatever you think of the late David Soul - his reading of this is perfect! I’ve listened to countless audiobooks over the years, and this is easily my favourite. I give it 6 stars.

Great story that could have been better told

I'm a fan of Bosch - I've read all of the books and am currently enjoying the very well made series on Amazon Prime. I enjoyed reading this book and very much enjoyed listening to the two Bosch novels that have been narrated by Titus Welliver. For me, David Soul wasn't right for the character and his performance made the story less engaging.
