About this listen
Jeremy Thorn and his wife, Katherine, have just welcomed the newest member of their family to the world: Their beautiful son Damien. But as the boy grows, so does the terror surrounding him. Fatal accidents, suicides, and unexplained violence seem to follow the Thorns wherever they go - but why? And how can Damien have anything to do with the carnage and bloodshed? He is only a child. But Damien Thorn is like no child on Earth. He bears the mark of the beast. And his time is at hand.
This audiobook edition is narrated by Holly Palance, who starred in David Seltzer's The Omen in 1976.

It starts off at a nice pace, captivating the reader (or in my case listener) from the very beginning. I found myself wanting to find out more. Hooked on the suspense. Perhaps knowing the book itself is about the “Antichrist” builds the suspense for the author as we expect some ominous and dangerous things to happen.
Nevertheless, I thought the story was excellent. The only bad thing I can say was that I was expecting more “paranormal” things to be happening. Maybe a little more descriptions on the curious behaviour of Damien. This is probably my own fault as I do enjoy your typical paranormal books/movies (e.g the Exorcist and the Conjuring universe).
Performances were great. I loved how the different accents were used and I think it gave more life to the story.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the paranormal trope but also to anyone who likes reading about religion and how it can be interpreted in various ways. Definitely would suggest this book to a mature audience, maybe young adults and above as some of the descriptions in the book are graphic and can be triggering to some people.
An interesting read.
