About this listen
One dinner party will destroy everything.
The night that throws a wrecking ball into Abby’s life starts out perfectly at first. There’s still a hint of summer sun in the purple-streaked sky. Abby and her best friend, Sienna, look on fondly as their two husbands laugh under the garden gazebo. None of them know it’s the last time they will be together again.
What starts out as just a little fun has devastating consequences for the couples. Alone with Sienna’s husband, Greg, Abby finds him unexpectedly charming. Caught up in the moment, she reveals a secret she swore never to tell. And something happens that night that neither she nor Greg can take back.
Abby is desperate to tell her husband and Sienna the truth but can’t risk Greg sharing what she told him. She has no choice but to keep quiet. Then Greg suddenly disappears.
Is her best friend’s husband simply running from his secrets? Or has someone decided they can’t risk that he may share theirs?
From number one best-selling author Kathryn Croft comes a gripping and twisty psychological thriller perfect for fans of Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train.

Pointlessly long and unlikeable characters...
I wasnt really sure why this was written, it seemed to have no point and events made no sense. I was so frustrated with the two unlikeable female main characters; with very little difference between them and both making a vast array of bizarre assumptions.

Narration wasn’t up to much.
Narration was a tad irritating. Story was a bit ‘round the houses’
I guessed who was responsible because the character was the only one not put in the frame! Long story but as it was something to listen to in order to go to sleep it did its job. Good that it was free

Dull, expressionless narration
I had high hopes for this book, but gone are the days when I persevere to the bitter end. I imagine the story would be quite good, but the narration! Monotone and expressionless, I’m 7 chapters in and can’t take any more.

Enjoyed it but not the best
It was a bit protracted, characters could have been a bit more feisty! I still listened happily to the end, will give the author another try.

Very good story
A good narrator apart from; particularly in the earlier chapters, you could hear her taking a breath which made it a little uncomfortable to listen too.

the power of doubt
enjoyed this book. liked the way it gently set the scene of seemingly normal suburban life gradually changing, through discontent, into something not so normal then a total mayhem of relationships falling apart, hatred, doubt, fear and mistrust. This resulted in a page turning experience finally escalating into a twisty, turny, personality showing, questioning, shocking, finale.

I really enjoyed this book
If there is a slight thing to mention, it was a bit too long, but that didn’t detract too much

Narrator v poor
The sharp intake of breath on every second word is so annoying, the story was slow but would of liked to listen to the whole thing but couldn’t do it because of the narration
