Sink into the joyously weird and wonderful next chapter of Don and Rosie, in Graeme Simsion's unmissable sequel to the bestselling The Rosie Project!
Forty-one-year-old geneticist Don Tillman had never had a second date before he met Rosie.
Now, living in New York City, they have survived ten months and ten days of marriage, even if Don has had to sacrifice standardised meals and embrace unscheduled sex.
But then Rosie drops the mother of all bombshells. And Don must prepare for the biggest challenge of his previously ordered life - at the same time as dodging deportation, prosecution and professional disgrace.
Is Don Tillman ready to become the man he always dreamed of being?
Or will he revert to his old ways and risk losing Rosie for ever?
Want to find out what Rosie and Don do next? Continue the journey with The Rosie Result - the hilarious and heart-warming conclusion to the trilogy!

Fun, different and intelligent!
What made the experience of listening to The Rosie Effect the most enjoyable?
I had already listened to The Rosie Project, to which this book is a sequel. The two books are lovely reading/listening. I recommend reading them in order. As a Psychologist myself, I love how intelligently written all of the characters are and especially Don, with his Aspergers symptoms. It is successful in being both funny and poignant. It is a light, easy read, but certainly not superficial, forgettable fiction.
Which character – as performed by Dan O'Grady – was your favourite?
Don Tilman.

Good
This sequel perhaps lacks the surprise element of The Rosie Project, and it may be a little more overtly didactic, but I enjoyed it just the same. There are some very funny bits. The narration is just right.

Very enjoyable sequel
Any additional comments?
Don remains the same likeable character who struggles with ordinary life and the writing style allows you to predict the usually very funny consequences of his chosen actions. If you liked the Rosie Project you will love this.

Brilliant sequel
This was as funny and entertaining as the Rosie Project which I've listened to twice as I enjoyed it so much. Further complications and difficulties encountered by Don's literal interpretation of the world lead to a very enjoyable listen and Dan O'Grady's narration is very good. I have already recommended this second book to everyone I know

Not as good at the first book
Having loved The Rosie Project so much I was so so excited to begin this book. I dove into it straight away and then, I'm afraid I got a little bored... So, having reached the halfway pint I walked away from the novel. I left it for nearly a year and then read it in just about one go. I can't say that I enjoyed it lots more on the second attempt but I remembered why I love Professor Don Tilman so much! There were some fabulous funny moments in the novel, just like in the first book staring everyone's favourite Geek, some real laugh out loud blunders that don gets himself into so definitely be prepared to laugh! There are also some very real moments of how new parents having to cope with a rollercoater of emotions when they decided to make that jump towards parenthood and I think these were the moments I struggled with the most because I would be laughing and then I would be worried about what was going to happen in a very serious situation.
Don is a lot more empathetic in this novel than in the previous book, his time living with Rosie obviously having taught him a lot. Rosie is just the same and I really like her in this book. Don's friends are very involved in this novel and I did have a little trouble keeping track of who was who, I'm not going to lie! Their involvement leads to a lot of hilarity though because Don is trying to do the right thing based on why they have told him and so he ends up in some compromising, unwise and sometimes illegal positions-funny though!
I did feel at points in this book that Don's autistic nature was really misunderstood and this was very interesting because I think it is a great thing to raise awareness of the fact that autism is so generalised by people in society and yet can affect each person in a very very different way. I think it's great that a Don can bring about this awareness but I also really just wanted to know what he was going to do about Rosie and the baby. Overall I did struggle a bit with this novel but this will in no way deter me from picking up what Graeme Simsion has to offer in the future!

Another fantastic novel
Don is a brilliant character and Graeme's character progression is really well thought through. I really enjoy the narration by Dan and have just downloaded the third and final book in this series. I plan to get started on it immediately. Thank you for highlighting some of the challenges for people who are autistic/with autism.

Excellent, engaging and enchanting.
My second time of listening has improved my enjoyment, and although fictional offers a humorous insight into the autism experience with its many advantages.
