Summary
Two houses. Two front doors. One family. And we’re going to make it work. Nothing can possibly go wrong....
Today we move into our new houses, right next door to each other. My ex-husband and me. He’s with someone else. So am I.
We’re still the best of friends. We’re making sure we’re not like every other separating couple. We know we will make it work. We’ve even knocked down the fences between the houses, so the children can all run between both homes.
But it seems not everyone likes this big, blended stepfamily. I try to ignore the scary note in the "new home" card and the red pen scrawled through my divorce paperwork. But I can’t pretend it’s all okay when an accusation is made against me that could destroy my life, my home, and my family forever.
Now I can’t help but think someone doesn’t like what’s happening under our two roofs. Or perhaps someone doesn’t like there being a wife next door....
What they don’t know is that they’re messing with the wrong person....
A completely unpauseable, jaw-on-the-floor psychological thriller for fans of Girl on the Train, Gone Girl, and The Couple at No.9.

Interesting story
Good story, Did spend some time wishing that Jess was a bit quicker to catch on. The description of the woods is really something, I felt like I was there.

Nonsense
I love a domestic thriller and this book sounded right up my street.
However, as a social worker myself I just got incredibly annoyed at the lack of research the author did around child protection procedures! Total nonsense which completely distracted me from enjoying the book. Just irritating, and the ending was an anti-climax too.

Good thriller read
Another master piece by Rona Halsall, if there’s one thing you are guaranteed by her books is they keep you guessing, and you always end up surprised.

Really good
Good book, although I would never move in next door to an ex. Written & read very well, will definitely listen to more of her books.

Keeps you guessing right to the end!
I always enjoy Rona Halsall’s books and I especially enjoyed this one as set in the Isle of Man.
The narrator Sarah Durham did an excellent job of conveying the main characters feelings and emotions. I really felt for Jess, and I was getting frustrated at times as I hated it that no one would believe her when things kept happening to her!
I thought I had guessed who the villain was…. and I changed my mind so many times - I just had to finish the book to find out!!!!!
Brilliant ending too - wrapped everything up nicely with an explanation as to what/why/how everything happened.
Looking forward to the next book!!!

struggled to get through
Not for me. Took very long to get into the story line. Narration didn't grab my attention.
