About this listen
I’m a good girl.
I live by a code that can’t be bent or broken. It is my duty to my family to stay innocent and pure. To marry an Italian man. The stars are already aligned.
But Nikolai Kozlov re-writes my destiny with five simple words.
You belong to me now.
He's Russian mafiya. A thief. A skilled liar with no moral boundaries. He is everything I have been taught to hate. A man who stands for nothing. A man who takes what he wants without a second thought.
And what he wanted was me.
He thinks he controls my fate, but what he doesn’t know is that sometimes it’s the good girls you have to watch out for.
I’m a dangerous man.
I live by a code. The Vory code. It is my duty to my family to protect the brotherhood. To destroy anyone who threatens what we stand for, including her.
She’s a dancer. A beautiful little doll. My prisoner and my new favorite puppet. This mafia princess thinks she has me under her spell, but in the end, she is simply collateral.
It’s a shame to destroy precious things.
But this is what bad men do.
Note: This book contains dark subject matter, please listen at your own discretion. This is a full-length standalone that can be read in any order within the series.

A dark love story
Wow this book got very dark. I loved it so much. So much happened in this book it was so entertaining. It follows Tanaka a ballet dancer and daughter to the leader of the Italian mafia. She is given to Nikolai the Russian Mafia in return for a debt. What follows is a dark time for Tanaka as she heals from a very bad injury. Tanaka and Nikolai slowly start growing feeling for each other but people don't want them to be together. I love the feel of the book and that you get to see how both characters are feeling. Tracy Marks is just so fantastic I love her Russian accent and she keeps it up so well through quiet long sections. A.Zavarelli is just an amazing story teller she never disappoints. I have the first 4 books so look forward to getting to know the rest of the characters. This is so well worth a listen and a second listen. Amazing story.

Mafia romance at its best
Gosh. I love this series so much and Nikolai’s story is no exception. Another story of forbidden love within the Boston Underworld. So much angst. My heart breaks for Tanaka and Nikolai, both of them such strong personalities in a world where rules and family obligations mean everything. One Italian, one Russian, both destined to marry within their family, both willing to make that sacrifice until their paths throw them together in the most cruel way. Again, a fantastic storyline, wonderful characters, so much passion and emotion, so much sexual tension, and of course violence, it wouldn’t be Boston Underworld without the drama, secrets and savagery. Narrated solely by Tracy Marks, who as usual does an excellent job of this dual POV story, narrating both Nikolai and Tanaka perfectly.

Intensely dislike the hero
This went way over the line of overbearing, caveman, mafia, dark hero, and wayyyyy into abusive unlikeable hero. There’s no love here! No redemption. Just a seriously dysfunctional relationship. I like the series, but this book crossed a line for me and I kept listening hoping for a turn around in the character that I could buy into - it never happened. I’d like to say more but it would lead to spoilers.
