About this listen
This Works looks at mindfulness from a fresh new angle. Looking at it as something of the utmost simplicity, Paddy Brosnan teaches that mindfulness is not something you do but something you are. It's a way of being.
Paddy used to be an investment advisor but was going through life feeling angry and anxious, so he became a committed Buddhist and learned to calm the hell down. For him, mindfulness is two things: the formal meditation practice and its practical application in everyday life. In a way that can easily be understood by anyone, he explains the basics of mindfulness, how to develop awareness and what the spiritual benefits of a dedicated mindfulness practice are.
Using examples from his own life and from the lives of his students, he illustrates how this practice can open up a whole new dimension of experience, enabling you to savour the pleasures in life as they occur, to be more fully engaged in everyday activities and to develop a greater capacity to deal with adverse events.
Told with the humour, compassion and relatability that have made Paddy's workshops so successful, This Works provides a very direct and accessible insight into how the development of awareness through mindfulness can ultimately bring us a deeper sense of contentment - or, put another way, how mindfulness can help us be happy.

Thought Provoking...
This is a great book, filled with lots of real life examples that really help you understand how, when and why mindfulness can help change our lives for the better.
Paddy’s casual dialogue makes for easy listening and really helps to de-mystify the topic of mindfulness.
