Summary
He told me he loved me, then abandoned me.
My sister was his first choice. Too bad for him, I refused to be his second.
Dante Leone was bad news with a gorgeous exterior and a dangerous mind. Emotionally unavailable and slightly unhinged, he was a heartbreak waiting to happen. Again.
I ran. He gave chase and my fate was sealed.
Roaming the world, I searched for a vital part of me. There'd be no new beginning until I found my answers. My taste of freedom was sweet, yet lonely. And oh, so fleeting.
I should have known he would catch up to me. After all, he thrived on the chase. I'd learned that the hard way.
But guess what?
I was no longer the woman he seduced all those years ago. I no longer believed the pretty lies that passed his lips nor the false promises in his deceitful eyes.
My name is Phoenix Romero, and I'd make the rules this time around.
Like my namesake, I had risen from the ashes and this time, I would be the one to make him burn.

Loved it!!
Wow... Oh, my heart... I'm in tears. Eva does it again! This book was absolutely incredible, but I expected nothing less from the author! I don't think my heart will ever be the same.
You'll like this book if you like these tropes…♡
✿ Second Chance
✿ Secret Baby
✿ Amnesia
✿ Mafia/Cartel
✿ Kidnapping
✿ Torture
✿ Stalking
✿ Hearing Disability Rep
✿ HEA
✿ Close Proximity/Forced Proximity
✿ Enemies-to-Lovers
✿ Romantic Suspense
✿ Angsty & Emotionally Charged
This book was an emotional roller coaster. My heart feels like it has been shattered into pieces. Phoenix and Dante’s story is such an incredible, beautiful, emotionally charged love story that took hold of my heart from page one and didn’t let go til the end and I still can’t quite get it out of my heart and head and it’s been 4 days since I finished the book.
This book had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. I fell in love with Dante back in the ‘Stolen Empire Trilogy’ and now I think I love him even more if that’s even possible… and I get it, that’s messed up because he’s a bit of a psychopath… but hear me out, in this book, we got to see more to Dante than the Mafia Man we’ve known him as and we got to see more of man he was before he became the mafia man he is. It was such an eye-opening experience and absolutely heartbreaking the things that he has been through and the fact that he was kidnapped and brutally tortured has messed his mind up more than most people would or could understand unless they went through it themselves. Alongside the amnesia that has left patches in his memory and has led him to forget events before being kidnapped. It’s when Phoenix comes into the picture and he becomes infatuated and obsessively drawn to her that you see him hanging on to reality and his sanity by a thread.
Phoenix always came off as the quiet and innocent one to me in other books but oh my god, how wrong I was! In this story, she is anything but that! She’s wild, she’s free-spirited, passionate, fierce and answers to no one. She isn’t someone you want to get on the wrong side or hurt someone she cares about.
Even though these two seem to hate each other with a passion, it’s pretty obvious that there is chemistry and the chemistry between these two is explosive, intense to say the least. Dante and Phoenix’s story is filled with passion and love yet there is so much heartache and pain. It was a rollercoaster ride of emotions. One minute my heart was being ripped to pieces and the next the author was piecing it back together. I couldn’t help but cheer these two on and it made my heart happy to see them get the happy ending they deserved.
There were so many twists and turns in the book, my head was spinning constantly. So many secrets, lies, and betrayals but ultimately, love wins and conquers all and what started as a heartbreaking, dark and torturous story has turned into a beautiful love story that will stay in my heart for a long time to come.

Exceptional Story & Listen🎧 Gripping & Emotional!
Eva Winners blows me away with another amazing novel set in her equally amazing “Thorns of Omertà” series. This fourth book of the series is Dante Leone and Phoenix Romero’s story, an enemies-to-lovers mafia romance with twists and turns that keep you thinking and on your toes. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and held it captive the entire time. Wow, Eva Winners put these two through the wringer and made them work for their happily ever after, and I was rooting for them the entire time. The two were young lovers, but with so many things going against them, they never stood a chance. Dante broke Phoenix’s heart, and she avoided seeing him for years, but when the two were in the same place, it was unavoidable and Dante felt a connection to her like no other, but Phoenix only felt hate. But there is a thin line between love and hate and Dante was not giving up on her and it became like a cat-and-mouse game until he finally catches up to her. Phoenix was on her own mission to get back something that never should have been taken from her. I loved how everything played out in this book, the complexity of the characters and all the layers to the story, which has the perfect balance of drama, angst, mystery, thrilling and suspenseful moments and steamy romance. The writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. It was great to see some familiar faces from earlier series, including Sasha and Branka. Eva Winners, thank you for another exceptional story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Connor Crais and Felicity Munroe did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life, and they understood who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting and believable. Monroe nailed it as Phoenix, grasping every aspect of her personality, from her vulnerabilities and sorrow to her fierceness and determination and all in between. Crais was just as amazing in his role as Dante, showcasing all aspects of his personality as well, including his passiveness and alpha-tude. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These two are entertaining storytellers and their performance elevated this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Loved the dual narration of Connor Crais and Felicity Munroe, brilliant.
Dante broke Phoenix’s heart, and she avoided seeing him for years. Now both have come face to face, Dante still has a strong connection, to Phoenix. But Phoenix only feels hate. Dante is not giving up on her. Phoenix is determined to get back what should have never been taken from her.
We have drama, angst, mystery and a steamy romance.

Amazing Story and Narration!
Thorns of Silence was an incredible listen! It has so many of my favorite things - enemies to lovers, secret baby, mafia, stalking, suspense! I'm not always a lovers of second chance stories but this one had me on edge anticipating learning more about their past. The amnesia storyline and hearing disability rep were also both done well. Phoenix and Dante have both suffered and lost so much in life but even though Dante doesn't remember he is drawn to Phoenix and resorts to stalking her. A lot of push and pull and they learn little by little secrets, half truths, and how family can betray you.
Eva Winners has quickly became a one click author for me and her storytelling is so good with the way she can build webs of storyline throughout her series always gets me. If you are a fan of mafia/crime families you need to give her books a try!
Duet Narration by Felicity Munroe and Connor Crais just enhanced this listen for me. They were cast perfectly for this book, Connor was the perfect alpha with stalker tendencies! Felicity Munroe is a newer narrator to me and she did not disappoint. She voiced Phoenix and Skye perfectly. They both gave stellar performances and their voices worked very well together. They brought these characters and story to life for me. Hope to listen to more titles with them soon.

Excellent Narration and Great Story
I'm starting to think Eva Winners can do no wrong when it comes to mafia and billionaire romances. Her books are top tier.
Thorns of Silence had everything I was hoping for. We got a bit of first love and heartbreak, enemies to lovers, second chance and so much angst along the way.
The steamy scenes took my breath away. I can't get past how hot Dante and Pheonix are together.
My heart broke for Sasha and Branka and the impossible situation that caused the characters to cross paths. At times I wasn't sure how everyone could possibly get a HEA.
I will be adding the Reinas book to my TBR after this, to see how some of the scene would cross over.

Get ready to be captivated!
I don't know where Eva Winners comes up with her stories, but each one grabs me from the first chapter and holds me hostage til the very end. This is the fourth book of her Thorns of Omerta series and I was captivated by the characters. Phoenix and Dante were in love and committed to be together forever. When her heart is broken though, she does her best to avoid him But he is not the kind to let her go. Always in her face, not understanding her rejection, he cannot get over his love and obsession with her. She only feels revulsion. But does she really? There is so much that goes on between these two, I could only sit back and go for their ride. Secrets held on both sides creates so many misunderstanding and the families do what they have to trying to keep things moving along. I could not stop listening to this one, whether it was the frustration of Nix's constant rejection or Dante's hidden past, their true feelings or the secrets that could change everything, it was a story that caught me up and held me captive. I loved every minute of this one and look forward to Reina's story!
And how could it get any better than Connor Crais and Felicity Munroe telling the story? Crais is fantastic as Dante. His strong alpha voice is out, ready for action! He is strong and deadly, and on a dime can turn to the loving, even vulnerable Dante. Munroe projects her dislike for Dante through her voice with a constant hint of hurt revealing her true feelings as Nix. And her voice as Skye is priceless! This is a phenomenal listen and is sure to make your weekend like it did mine!
