Amazing
Jefferson Mays does it again. I cannot imagine even reading this book on paper, since for me, after 8 books, his voice is half of it. Without his voice, it wouldn’t be the Expanse. Obviously, the book is as amazing as the previous were and I have no idea how any ending will ever do justice to such a series. Two years to wait for the last book in the series is just way too long!

Oh no!
Arghhhh! Okay I think I am a little bit addicted to the James Corey books. Write faster! Another great addition to the expanse series. It did feel to have a bit less OMG factor of the first few books as the protein molecule was unveiled... but are we heading back that way????

The best sci fi series i have ever enjoyed
Eight books in and its still utterly fantastic and unexpected. Amazing Narrator who has just as much enthusiasm and intensity as right at the beginning

It's great, Mays does a fantastic job again
I love this series, I've been through it 3 times or so and in particular I love listening to Jefferson Mays bring it to life. A fantastic pairing of great book and great VA, if you've made it this far in the series you're going to enjoy this latest and be eagerly anticipating the next.

Better story
Significantly better than last book. Only a few too many and too long narrative overlaps. Supposedly from different perspectives of same incident though near identical in content.

Really good latest addition to the series
This Expanse series has been amazingly effective at drawing you in to the whole saga, book after book. If at times I became a little confused about who was who and where we were at a precise point in the story, it actually didn't matter in the end as you remain engrossed in the whole narrative flow and feel compelled to find out what happens next and how the Rocinante crew are going to prevail, or not...
(spoiler alert ! ) I thought the incidental discovery and subsequent deployment of the anti-matter was a bit of a slack plot device, but, whatever, it's just a sci-fi story after all and the drama unfolded thereafter really well. At times it gets a bit overwhelming with detail and description, but I can live with that as part of the overall flow.
I find myself genuinely looking forward to the next book, but am wondering how long Holden and crew can keep going as they're getting pretty old now, despite the advances in human lifespan - and I'm not sure it would be so compelling without the core central heroic characters who we have grown to 'love'. Very well read and recommended!

Fantastic penultimate book.
Well written and narrated as I have come to expect with this series. The Expanse deserves to be widely read by all fans of science fiction. Once the last book has been released and I have finished it, a hole will be left in my imagination.

Expanse the Eighth
The eighth and penultimate Expanse novel is well worth the wait. Some interesting new characters are introduced, and some familiar faces return from novels past; plus the usual Rocinante crew, though scattered, are all present and correct.
Much better than Persepolis Rising, you can feel the momentum building towards the finale due in book nine; which promises lots.
(I cannot say too much in this review because, trust me, you really don't want any spoilers... But I assume that if you've stuck with it for seven books already that you're going to get this one!)
So stop reading reviews and just download it already!
PS Jefferson Mays is, as always, fantastic.
