About this listen

KILLERS DON'T JUST DISAPPEAR . . .

The unmissable brand new Detective Jack Warr thriller from the Queen of Crime Drama, Lynda La Plante.

When an eccentric widow claims she is being stalked by her former lodger, Detective Jack Warr is the only person who believes her wild claims.

Days later, she is found brutally murdered in her home.

When the investigation uncovers an international drugs operation on the widow's property, the case grows even more complex. And as the hunt for the widow's lodger hits dead end after dead end, it seems that the prime suspect has vanished without a trace.

To find answers, Jack must decide how far is he willing to go—and what he is willing to risk—in his search for justice. Because if he crosses the line of the law, one wrong move could cost him everything . . .

Gripped all the way through

This book was gripping all the way though . So many people think they can write crime thriller’s now,I am so feed up with searching for a different sorry line and one that could be true. I would recommend this book to all adult ages, can’t wait for the next one, and love the one in this new series before this

The lengths some will go to

Horrific detail on murder and dismembered body, definately not nice and a Eminent doctor who perhaps unwittingly murders his daughter. It manages to keek you listening and the eyebrows raised.

brilliant as always

book one in this series, excellent, but got a bit lost on book 2. However, Vanished was truly fabulous, and brought the series to a spectacular conclusion. Great read.

Quirky storyline

Once more Ms. De Plante has created a really compelling narrative, where one is applauding mentally or alternatively cringing because of some revelation or other. Her creativity in the narrative is excellent. The only negative is the irritating mispronunciation by the reader, of several words, such as the artist Modigliani, or of some of the varieties of Scotch.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant !!!

Once again, Lynda la Plante has excelled herself!. I love the Jack Warr character and Alex Hassell is superb in his narration - almost. I say almost because, and I stand corrected if I have made a mistake, but I am sure the forensic person is meant to be Geordie, but she speaks with a wonderful Welsh accent - well it sounds Welsh to me. Still 5* from me though, and I do so hope there is going to be a fourth book in this series Please let there be.........

Enjoyed seeing how itcall came together, Jack is a maverick and you do wonder how he keeps getting away with it.
