About this listen
If anyone ever said being an adult was easy, they hadn't been one long enough. Diana Casillas can admit it: she doesn't know what the hell she's doing half the time. How she's made it through the last two years of her life without killing anyone is nothing short of a miracle. Being a grown-up wasn't supposed to be so hard. With a new house, two little boys she inherited in the most painful possible way, a giant dog, a job she usually loves, more than enough family, and friends, she has almost everything she could ever ask for. Except for a boyfriend. Or a husband. But who needs either one of those?

Slow burn at it’s finest
Great story line, just enough to keep you going back for more, another amazing book from the queen of a slow burn

Another example of why I love Mariana Zapata
Having met the heroine of the story in a previous book it was great to get her story and find out how she was. Unfortunately Diana had suddenly become the mother figure to her brothers children and we get to see how she manages with this as well as cope with the grumpy guy across the street.
Diana and Dallas' progression is slow and like any Mariana Zapata book you begin to feel like these are your friends and you are rooting for them all the way. This is not a quick listen but it is definitely worth it as the narration got it just right for me.
This was just another example of why I love Mariana Zapata's work.

Very well done
I absolutely love Mariana’s writing and decided this would be my first choice for trying out audio books and she has not disappointed. Callie has a lovely voice and did a great job.

Love it! Seems to be part of a series that audible has not picked up on
Well I stumbled across this in my "recommended" section and I was not disappointed as in previous reviews state it is a slow burn the narration and story is lovely. The story is sweet and i loved the opening! During listening to this book I laughed and had a few tears in moments.
The only thing is that I'm disappointed in is that this book seems to be in a bit of a series and I have came into it mid way through/ end of it and audible has not picked it up as a series link! I will go and listen to the others but I prefer to listen in order.

A bit too long
I love most of Zapata's books but sometimes it becomes a bit too slow burn. This book is a too slow burn so after a while I cannot pick up on the chemistry between the mc and fmc. It becomes too much side stories and the romance between Diana and Dallas loose momentum for me. A little more "drama" could have kept my focus up, now I actually lost focus here and there but didn't rewind because I felt I didn't miss any important events. A pity as the story per se is great and as always Carrie Dalton as a narrator is a brilliant choice. She is superb and should always be the narrator for Zapatas books or co-narrator if a male (preferably Teddy Hamilton or Aaron Shedlock) reads th mc.

great read.
everybody can relate to the tales about family in this amazingly touching, funny, great slow burn love story that happen around a great tale of family life. I will read it again just for the moments with Louis and Josh, the 2 young boys. Motherhood through Diana's eyes is brutally honest and laugh out loud. Add into that the usual strong cast of secondary characters that Mariana Zapata always takes time, and pages on, this is a book that I couldn't stop reading and I know I will read it again and find even more things to love.

Loved it!
This was another amazing book from Mariana. I’d put off reading it, for some reason - not sure why, but I’m glad I’ve finally done it now! Loved the characters and the narration. Diana and Dallas are another couple on my re-read list!

Whoop
My fourth Mariana Zapata book and definitely not my last. Cant get over how well Callie Dalton performances these characters and makes them all so different and identifiable

Fun, cute, and touching, read!
I love Mariana Zapata. This book had such a touching dynamic between the fmc and her nephews which made me cry. That was the star of the show for me. However as always the romance was still present and slow burn and had me squealing a few times. Would recommend
