Summary
Before he was “Big Texas,” he was “Zac the Snack Pack".
Bianca Brannen knows time - mostly - heals all wounds. Including those your once loved ones might have unintentionally given you. (Those just take longer.)
She thinks she’s ready when a call has her walking back into her old friend’s life. Or at least, as prepared as possible to see the starting quarterback in the National Football Organization. Before the lights, the fans, and the millions, he’d been a skinny kid with a heart of gold.
Waltzing out of Zac Travis’s life should be easy. Just as easy as he walked out of hers.

The voice of Zack. OMG. But..
Tooo long. To many words. And I would have loved full chapters with the male character, to hear his version of the story.
But. Otherwise. Very sweet, very comforting.
But if you wish for a more steamy lovestory, find another book: this was 90% foreplay.

Just what I needed
Such a gentle, feel good and low drama story. A few hiccups but lots of smiles, laughs and a whole lotta love.
Mariana Zapata and Callie Dalton are a match made in heaven, and Chris Brinkley was a lovely warm, dreamy Zac. It’s not my first listen, but I probably enjoyed it even more second time around, enjoying the gentle pace and wonderful characters more.

Was just ok
I usually find mariana zapatas books fantastic but this one was just ok, not alot of substance to the story which was a shame, but a nice easy listening experience

Queen of slow burn
As always this is a slow burn. The beginning is also a little slow and it took me a while to get into it, but once I did, then I couldn’t stop listening.
Bianca and Zack have been friends since she was 3 and he was 11. He went to college and they lost touch for ten years, until circumstances bring them together. It’s definitely a friends to lovers, very slow burn, neither of which I usually enjoy, but for some reason Ms Z always draws me in with her slow burns. I love both Bianca and Zack; she’s insecure but driven and independent, he’s just a big Retriever. We first meet Zack in the Wall of Winnipeg and it was nice to see cameos from Aiden and Van. There are also some great side characters including the return of the Trevor (wall of Winnipeg ), who gets his own mini redemption arch. I love Connie, Bianca’s sister and their relationship is fun, and then there’s Boogie, Bianca’s cousin and Zack’s friend. They all add to the story.
Nothing much happens in this, there’s no major drama, or mystery, or angst, which is a shame, but it’s a good solid listen.
Performances were great from Callie Dalton, and Chris Brinkley (the latter of whom I will be adding to my favourites.) He has a lovely warm voice that just wraps you up!
Well worth a listen.

Brilliant
Mariana Zapata is on of my favourite authors. Her stories are a brilliant mix of feel good humour and hot guy romances. I usually listen to the audiobooks and go back to them time and again. Callie Dalton is a brilliant narrator, not heard Chris Brinkley narration before but his voice….. oh my gawd!!!!! Fair to say I will be searching for more audiobooks read by him stat!!! 🔥🤩

Anytime Darlin’
I loved the book about Zac and Bianca but Oh good god…. I love the audio version sooooo much more. That deep male ‘Darlin’ was enough to make my ovaries grow back ; )

amazing audio!!!
Ok so I loved Zac when reading this story but hearing Marianas stories brought to life is just perfect!!
Zac makes me swoon so so hard! and Bianca is your usual MZ heroine..strong kick ass and full of humour!
These guys had such intense chemistry and deserved their HEA together.
Listening to this just makes me want to read/listen to all Mariana has ever written.
would DEFINITELY recommend this.

A good listen
I love how Mariana’s books pull you in, get you invested in the characters. It’s all very gentle but I never want it to end. I enjoyed this but got frustrated at times with the lead. It’s not as good as The Wall of Winnipeg and Me, but still a lovely listen.
