About this listen

Abbi has just arrived at UW Madison for her freshman year. But on her second day, she wakes up to a different world: 1983. That is just the first stop on Abbi's journey backward through time.

Will is a charming college freshman from 1927 who travels forward through time. When Abbi and Will meet in the middle, love adds another complication to their lives.

Communicating across time through a buried time capsule, they try to decode the reason for their travel, solve a family mystery, and plead with their champion, a kindly physics professor, to help them find their way home.

This pause-resisting story full of romance, twists, and delightful details about campus life then and now will stay with listeners long after the audiobook's satisfying end.

Easy listening

Story felt original. Moved swiftly along. Some good plot twists en route. One for the beach.

A Lovely story to be told

This is a lovely told story. The timeline is well thought through and let's you imagine what things were like in the dates told.

10 stars out of 10 for the narrator as well

Absolutely Amazing Story

This is one of my favourite books.. Like top 5. And for a boom lover there's some big competitors up there. So it is a real compliment to say this is on my top 5 list it is sweet and lovely and the authors note at the end simply made the book for me so be sure to stay tuned for that. Thanks for bringing this book into my life this is my second time reading it and was as amazing as my first time round. I reccomend this book to every one I speak to.

Very enjoyable

Perfect for lovers of time travel like myself. Can be enjoyed by anyone even though its probably more of a young adult story. I for one am not in that category & couldn’t wait to hear what happened. Recommended

Excellent book and excellently read.

I have to say this wasn't what I originally expected. I would be more hard science time travel whereas this is much more a people story. That said I really enjoyed it. Fantastically written and read.

A greaat sci-fi read.

A very good read. The narration is acceptable. I didn't like it at beginning, but adapted to her flat-ish tone after a bit of reading. The story and the writing were very good. A tad bit of woo woo, but not too bad.
I will look for more by this author.

An enjoyable time travel saga

As a fan of time travel tales I stumbled across this one and very much enjoyed it.
As another reviewer said it wasn’t particularly about college students at all and therefore suitable for any adult age group.
I liked the descriptions of the fashions and city scapes etc. in each of the era’s.
As an English person sometimes I struggle with American narrators but once I’d got used to it this narrator did a very good job in my opinion- her voice suited the main character very well.

Difficult to get through, but slowly improved

This is a rewrite of my initial review, which was somewhat less than complimentary.
The story is actually quite good, although written in quite a simplistic style. What makes this book difficult to listen to is the narrator. Audio books need a narrator with the abilities and skills of an actor, to bring the book to life. This narrator sounds like she's just reading the book out loud. Her intonation is wrong at times as well, raising the pitch of her voice in places that make it sound like she's asking a question, and often placing emphasis on the wrong word in a sentence - very frustrating to listen to.
With a better narrator, I may have been tempted to give this book 5 stars, but 3 is the best I can manage.

Reasonable

Easy to read/ listen to but with a slightly random plot that was difficult to reconcile despite the explanations at the end.
The actual content was reasonable enough to mostly want to keep reading but i didn't like the quick movement from each time and would have enjoyed a bit more time in each time period. Some good descriptive writing with a good style of writing which pushed the readability up a little.
Narrator was just reading and didn't put much effort into it which really didn't do the story any favours.
If there were half stars i would have given this book 3.5. Despite this, it is quite a reasonable, light read.

Highly recommended!

This book really grabs your attention. I started off thinking that the book was about college kids and probably targeted to young adults and, thus, would be immature. Nothing is further from the truth. The plot is thick with mystery and intrigue, unexpected turns, carefully placed details and wonderful characters. While it is a romance as well, it is so much more. The attraction between Abbie and Will is easy. The complexity lies in the fact that one is traveling forward in time while the other is traveling backwards. They need to find each other and find the key that is causing the time travel. Much easier said that done.

This audiobook was thoroughly enjoyable. It rates high on the adventure, mystery and romance scales. The biggest downside is that once you start, you won't want to stop!!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
