repetitive but very necessary
As a counselling therapist I found this book to be excellent at explaining the ideas and the points. It was rather repetitive listening to the same words however it took me untill the end before I could start calling out the interactions myself. clearly this repetition is needed to embed the learning and I intend to listen to it again and to recommend it to clients. Great easy learning, a must read.

hardworking but interested
found it hard to listen to and get into at times. I peservered and would say it's intriguing enough to get through to the end

Old but gold
It was only midway through the book when the author talked about Marlon Brando that I realised how old this book was.
Everything in it is still relevant.
I got a lot from this book and will read again.

Great book, love it
Might be old, but some principles apply. People are usually mad when you do this to them, but it works so well in sorting out whats wrong.
Thanks

Guilt free assertion is an audiobook away
Great audiobook.
It really made me rethink all those times I thought it was good to feel bad about saying no.
Warning: You may end up developing some new found respect for those who you considered self centred for saying no without a hint of guilt.

The narrator doesn't invite the reader
I bet that reading the book by yourself would much more enjoyable than listening to a machine reading out loud.

Mixed feelings but no gegrets
I have mixed feelings about this book. The theoretical underlying knowledge why you are not assertive is GOOD and gives real insight in why you are behaving like you are. The rules to assert yourself are good and the tecnicues also. But the dialogues are a bit rough, non-empathic. I think this is becouse it is a old book. The tecnicues wil work, but your relation wil maybe be destroyed. So I am going to figure out how to use the tecniques with an empatic way of comunicating wich still asues me of aserting myself. I'm listening about non violent comunication right now. Meshing this together will probably do the trick. I'm glad I read it, but I'm not finished yet….
