About this listen

Welcome to Wonderland Academy. Don't lose your head.

Getting into Wonderland Academy is easy:

You must be a little mad.
You must follow the white rabbit.
You must find the key to enter Wonderland.
You must not be named Alice or risk being beheaded by order of the Queen of Hearts.

We might have an issue with that last one.

My name may be Alice, but Wonderland Academy is everything my real life isn't. Who wouldn't want to learn how to ride a jabberwocky, train with a vorpal sword, cast spells using a teacup, or shapeshift into a fairy? As long as no one figures out my real name, I should be fine.

The only problem? Aden, the Queen of Hearts' son, is quickly becoming my best friend. And then there's Corbin. Brooding, surly, tattooed, and definitely not my type, I can't stop thinking about him. But Corbin has secrets of his own, and Wonderland and secrets don't mix.

How I'm going to pass my classes and protect my secret like my life depends on it is beyond me. But I better find a way. Because in Wonderland, no Alice is safe.

Wonderland Academy re-imagines the fantastical world of Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" for a fresh, new adventure. Combining whimsy, magic, and a splash of steampunk, New York Times best-selling author Melanie Karsak invites you into this beautifully re-envisioned fairy tale adventure.

This was a great book. Very entertaining and fast paced. The narrator did a fabulous job bringing all the characters to life.I love how Wonderland has an academy and helps students develop their magical skills. Can't wait for the story to continue.

Well what can I say? First loved the story. Lacey is still traumatised by something bad that happened at her high school. In the first chapter she being released from hospital after a allergic suicide attempt.
She thinks shes going mad as she's seen strange things all her life. Including the man in the top hat when she leaves the hospital.
But what Lacey thought she was imagining is less of a fairy tale than she thinks. She's transported to Wonderland Academy and there you find the familiar characters that are from the Alice in Wonderland stories or are they stories?
The narration was great and I'm normally quite fussy with the narrator doing multiple voices. But I was really impressed with Kristin James and the book flowed beautifully. I received a free copy of this book but the review is my own opinion and I can say I loved it and want to know what happens in the next book in the series. A really good book to listen to.

Absolutely loved it,a great adventure.

I loved the whole world created around the Alice and wonderland books... it took me to a place of fantasy and wishing I could try new things! it reminds me of HP in some parts, but this is bound to happen with it being a school in another realm and world different to our own.

I loved escaping reality... I also felt captured by the relationships and felt myself smiling and laughing at different points!

Thank you as this was my first audiobook!

Cant wait to listen to 2nd book...

Wonderland Academy doesn't just retell Alice's tale, it creates a magical universe.

Lacey had a tragic loss when Nick died...

She has Corbin and Aiden now, but how will that all end ?

I'm going to need that next book !

The narrator's skills handled the range of human and magical voices fabulously !

Truly Magical!

Interesting story

Other reviewers have described this as a ‘cliff hanger’ I would go a step further and say the story cuts off before it’s even half way through. This is basically a whole heap of set up, detailed, enjoyable set up granted, but not a whole heck of a lot happens. I HATE when books are serialised this way, each book should have its own story arc and build to something. The narrator is good, her Irish accent - which is as predictably bad as most American narrators’ - not withstanding.

NOT a book, just the set up
