The accent
Well paced story, narrator has a great voice UNTIL the Scottish accent. Not the worst but grates on a genuine scot's ears after an hour. Aren't there decent Scottish narrators/actors who could do this?

Fever of the Blood
Although dark and creepy, and blood curdling, this story also had humour. The relationship between Inspectors Frey and McGray is refreshing and brilliant. I look forward to the next book by Oscar de Muriel

Good sequel
Enjoyable listen with great animation again. The main character Fray is not a nice person so that can be difficult at times but overall I enjoyed it as the story was engaging. It got more engaging as it went on

Change of narrator in chapter 32?
I’m sure there is a change of narrator for chapter 32? Entirely different voice and performance. Am I the only person who has noticed??? Or am I bewitched? Off to look for an onion under my bed...

Great story, fantastic narration
A very well thought out story, highly entertaining and in many parts impossible to put down. The narrator is amongst the absolute best, he brings every character to life perfectly.

The witches and the ravens
I have listened to the first two books now. The reader is very good and the stories are great fun. They're well written, but have no pretensions to be anything other than they are, which is rollicking adventures with a bit of humour and mystery. Edgar Allen Poe meets Roald Dahl.

Not so enjoyable as first in series
I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did the first in the series, The banter between the two detectives seemed more barbed and unkind, and the story was a bit meandering.
Andy Secombe narrates well.
