Summary

A new emotional and angst-filled stand-alone taboo romance from USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Siobhan Davis™.

He’s my 18-year-old son’s best friend, and I’m old enough to know better.

My marriage is falling apart, and Vander’s home life is tragic.

Yet, his broken parts speak to mine, and amid all the chaos, a true connection is formed.

The only peace I find is in those stolen moments when we share our darkest secrets and our deepest desires.

This thing between us has disaster written all over it.

But I’m powerless to resist the magnetic pull that draws us closer and closer.

Until lines are crossed, boundaries are broken, and everything I thought I knew about myself is undone.

This reverse age-gap romance contains mature scenes, dark themes, and situations that may push your boundaries. Listener caution is advised.

Enjoyed

I love a story with a single mom. And this one was not what I ordinarily read, but I enjoyed it. Kendall is a mom of 3. She had everything she always wanted, until she finds out her husband cheated on her. Now it's like everything is falling apart…

Vander is the next-door neighbor and her oldest son’s best friend. But Vander is more mature for his age. He definitely knows what he wants from his life, and who he wants in his life. And that is definitely his best friend’s mother…

I totally loved the storyline of this audio. I loved Kendall and Vander. The angst was off the charts and this one had so much emotion in it, I totally got lost in the story. The only thing that I found a bit off was the narrators. Normally Sarah Puckett I enjoy her audio’s, but I felt like this one she dragged too much. I had to increase the speed just to get through the narration ☹ Other than that no complaints from me 😊 Definitely a good one, for my first-time author 😊

So tragic but full of love!

This audiobook was just such a great listening experience. I loved both narrators. Their voices were age appropriate and they each gave a wonderful performance. This story is brutal and gut-wrenching but tells the story of a beautiful love that over came so many adversities. No one writes a villain like this author and this one has two vile sadistic dregs of humanity. You need to listen to this story but make sure you have plenty of uninterrupted time because you will not want to stop.

Outstanding!

I am completely speechless. I knew this book was going to be emotional. This book will hit you right in the gut! Kendall and Vander's relationship will test all bounds and nothing will be easy. The angst will have you clenching your hands in fists because it's just so gut wrenching. The narrators blew this story out of the water and you will need to listen to this whenever you can because you will not want to stop listening until it's over. Such a beautiful and heartbreaking story!

Fantastic🎧📚🎧 Gripping, Wild & Emotional!

Siobhan Davis pens another amazing novel, and it is an angsty, mind-blowing, emotional rollercoaster ride. Just to be clear, the taboo reverse age-gap isn’t the part that is mind-blowing, that romance and relationship are actually a thing of beauty, one that was meant to be. This story not only captivated my attention the entire book, but it tugged on my heartstrings too. Kendall is stuck in a loveless marriage, her husband Curtis is an arrogant, manipulative, cheating liar, and she is only staying in the marriage for her children’s sake, but she has had enough of his lies and cheating ways and is finally showing him the door. Vander is her son’s best friend, his family life is crap, and he is wise beyond his years. His father, Greg, tries to control him and pull his strings as if he was a puppet and he only abides because of his mother, otherwise his father takes his anger out on her. I despised his father and Kendall’s husband, the two are rotten to the core. Vander has always had a crush on Kendall and now that he is eighteen, he is ready to share his feelings with her, except she is not ready to hear it. The chemistry between these two is undeniable. Vander feels he knew her in his past life, that she is his soulmate, and they can only deny each other for so long. Nothing is easy for these two, Kendall’s husband will not give in to her demands and Vander’s father has it out for him and promises to make his life a living hell. They never stood a chance or do they, can a romance that was meant to be really be? This cleverly plotted story has plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, gut-wrenching and heart-rending moments, heartfelt emotions, and some steamy romance. Siobhan Davis, thank you for another amazing and original story that will stick with me for a really long time.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Sarah Puckett and Silas Hart were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life, and they did so with the complete understanding of who these characters were, gave each a voice that fit them to a tee and were believable in every role they played. Hart nailed it as Vander, grasped all sides of his personality, Puckett did the same for Kendall and both were great portraying and performing the roles of all the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance, making you feel every single one. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to.

Absolute Perfection!!!

Oh My Word.....

Always Meant to Be pulled at each and every one of my heartstrings for the duration of the story. This book was emotional, angsty, steamy, utterly heartbreaking and yet inspirational and 100% fulfilling at the same time. It broke my heart and mended it all in one sitting.

Kendall is a married mom with three children who are her world, but her husband doesn't and hasn't appreciated her and treated her the way she deserves. Vander is her oldest son's best friend. He has a rough home life and spends quite a bit of time at her house.

I love that Kendall and Vander were clearly two parts of a whole. Vander was not your typical eighteen year old. He was wise beyond his years. It was so beautiful to see how they connected over philosophy and other meaningful topics and that their relationship was based on so much more than anything physical. They were both so protective over each other and the bond they shared was a true testament to their belief that they were meant to be, and no amount of time or distance or interference could impact that.

Age gap books are my jam. I love everything about them, but they have to be done right, and Siobhan Davis did this one perfectly. I was hooked from the beginning until the very last page and even then I wanted just a little bit more of these wonderful characters.

I read this book previously and jumped at the chance to listen to the audiobook because of how much this story captivated me. Sarah Puckett and Silas Hart completely nailed the narration as Kendall and Vander bringing their beautiful love story to life. I would 100% recommend this book and both narrators. They did a phenomenal job and I cannot wait to listen to more of their work in the future.

AMAZING!

I had to make myself savor this book and not devour it all in one sitting. I made myself walk away and the strength that took was immense!

This book was spectacular and completely unique! I have never read anything like it and I was obsessed!

Kendall Hawthorne has the perfect life, family, marriage... everything. Married to her high school sweetheart and a wonderful mom, but things aren't always as they seem.

Curtis is Kendall's husband, his character left something to be desired.. he was arrogant and a total jerk most of the time, but he knew how to hide his true persona.

Gregory Henley is their neighbor, he is a lawyer and knows he has enough people in his pockets to do whatever he wants and get away with it, but the extent of that was mindboggling.

Then there is West, Stella, and Ridge who are Kendall's children and the highlight of her life. They are amazing kids and love their mother something fierce.

Last but not least we have Vander Henley, West's best friend. He is rugged and sweet and gorgeous. He is the quintessential bad boy on the outside, all the girls at school want him but he isn't the least bit interested.

I was so invested in these characters and this story, I was crying with them and then laughing through my tears. It was such an emotional ride. I loved it and hated it all the same. There are so many different ways this story went and it was so taxing on my emotions but oh so worth it. I love the way Siobhan really brought life into these characters. I felt them in my soul.

"Our souls are carved from the same entity. You are the other piece of me. I was meant to find you, Kendall. We were always meant to be."

Can we talk about the quotability of this book? I highlighted more in this book than I ever have and that is what makes a book stick with you. I loved Vander and his way of making you turn to mush at his words and I love how freely he loved.. He is absolutely without a doubt my favorite character that I have read this year. I don't want to give any of the story or plot away but the end of the book was fascinating. I loved it. There was philosophy, there was art, there was interpretations... this book was so much more than just a love story.

"we get into a deep conversation about life and death, Kendall's philosophy class, and MGK and Megan Fox."

I hated how hard things were and how hurt everybody was, but I loved the way things worked out. It was torturous and my jaw dropped when some of the things were happening, but it was realistic even when it was heartbreaking. It wasn't sugarcoated or cinematically inflated, it was raw.

"No sane person can understand the mind of a psychopath. There's no way of comprehending how people can do such evil things."

Sarah Puckett and Silas Hart were spectacular! They brought life to this book. It was amazing,

Soulmates

Kendall is a married woman with three wonderful kids but her marriage is not leaving her satisfied. Vander is the best friend of Kendall’s son Wes. He is an old soul but he is dealing with a mother who been abused by her husband and constantly in the bottom of a bottle and a father that’s a SOB. Soulmates for a while Kendall has been trying to fight her feelings for Vander because he has been feeling that they are connected. This book was amazing and c a I say Kendall’s husband and Vander’s father were SOB’s and hypocrites it so,at for them to have affairs with young women but want to look down on a woman who is in love with a man younger than her. Once again Siobhan Davis knocks it out of the park with another amazing book.
