A helpful guide

“Beat Your Menopause Weight Gain” by Silvana Siskov offers a wide range of advice on how to deal with menopause weight gain using diet, exercise, self-talk, stress management, and so on. It’s a concise, well-written guide. The explanations on the role of hormones give a better understanding of how weight loss in this phase of a woman’s life is different than in younger ages. The book complements the other books written by Silvana Siskov.

Great motivation and understanding

I have already read a book on the menopause by this author which I loved. This book doesn’t disappoint either. I know I need to think about what I eat (and why) in terms of the hormone balances in my body but this book really helped to explain it all and put it into perspective (I really appreciated the recipes!) As well as being very easy to understand so that it just makes perfect sense. Left feeling encouraged and motivated to get on with some of the other things I need to do! Great book.

Informative and Helpful!

I have passed this age group, but the book has given many helpful tips for women in this age group to be well equipped. I had many of these symptoms when I was going through that phase of life, but I did not know. The information in this book will guide women at this phase of life to reduce discomfort going through this phase as the book empowers with much knowledge that is needed on what menopause is all about and how to go through the process every woman will have to go through.

Not just for women....

I say not just for women as the male of the species could do worse than listen to this excellent book. Men obviously do not go through the same changes as they get older, but that is no reason why they should not try to understand how their wife/partner feels as they go through their forties and fifties. I certainly learnt a lot and am quite happy not having to go through menopause!

The author, through excellent and engaging narration, conveys her wealth of experience to the listener. This has to be a must-listen for women, who should also give their other half a good nudge to listen as well! There is excellent advice on healthy eating - no fad diets here - mindfulness, exercise, meditation etc.

Well done to all associated with the book. Great job!

This book is gold!!

This book is an amazing guide not only to menopausal weight gain, but also many other changes that happen to the body at this challenging time. Understanding what's happening and why is such an important base for taking effective action, and this book covers it really well.
It then offers practical tips on how to properly manage weight considering stress levels and hormonal changes, goes over the foundation stones of a healthy diet specific to this particular phase, and also includes some self-care and exercise tips.
Overall a well-rounded easy to follow guide!

Excellent info

Very good book on the menopause, explains in detail how to combat the stress and affect our hormones that may make u gain weight. Tells us what exercises to do, healthy diet and get lots of beauty sleep. I bought silvana other book on this subject and the questions I had have been answered here as well. I now feel more equipped to challenge the menopause head on .

Such an important topic!

I think women's health is something that needs to be discussed more. I bought this book for my mother and mother in law who are both experiencing the rough side effects of menopause. This book is full of tips and I'm so grateful someone made a book about it! Thank you!

Not recommended

Repetitive. No real information. Lots of general advice of eating in moderation and exercising. Nothing here that isn't in a double-page spread in a women's magazine.
