About this listen
When the truth is locked in the past, best you pray for the right locksmith.
Just four months after Emma Hogan was born, her father was convicted of a heinous crime and sent to prison for life.
Forty-six years later, and now a London-based journalist, Emma inadvertently discovers an old notebook she suspects might be connected to the father she never knew. Embossed on the front of that notebook is a single word — Clawthorn. Unbeknown to Emma, the innocent-looking notebook is anything but, and it takes a stranger with an uncanny knowledge of the past to warn her of that fact — an intriguing stranger by the name of Clement.
With neither the notebook nor Clement being quite what they seem, Emma is compelled to dig for answers. However, one elusive individual will stop at nothing to protect the notebook’s secrets — its mysterious author.
As the past clashes with the present, Emma soon realises there is far more at stake than just a career-changing story. As for Clement; destiny may have brought them together but a seemingly higher power will decide their fate as they attempt to expose the truth about Clawthorn.

Cliff Bastin scores again.
Once again the cavalry,in the shape of Clement, rides to the aid of a damsel in distress in another great book from K.A.P.
The story has a great storyline with plenty of great characters, twists and turns with a tense finale.
My favourite Clement so far.

Excellent
Even better than the earlier books in the series - despite the narrator being only average.

Brilliant
This needs making into a tv series. Absolutely wonderful and I’m busy casting the fortunate actor, who in my head, gets to play Clement.

Excellent
This series continues to grow. Each is more entertaining than the last, my only minor issue with this was the (again) occasionally stupid and often irritating female lead character. Still a rip roaring whodunnit though.

Quirky and entertaining
Absolutely love this series, light hearted, easy to read, love the audio version, quirky and entertaining it would make a great TV series. Already downloaded the next book to start immediately as can't wait to find out what happens next.

Loved every bit of it!!!
I've binged the first three Clement books in the last fortnight and absolutely loved them all. Clement is a brilliant and unique character and never ceases to amuse, delight, shock, and thrill in equal measure.
I've loved the narration of them all as well and the very different styles of each narrator adds a variety to each story that I feel would be missing if the same person read each one. Deirdra brought all of the varied characters in book 3 to life brilliantly, especially Emma, and I don't know why any one would not give five stars.
My only disappointment is that it wasn't much, much longer!
Off to download book 4......
