About this listen
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Master your brain and emotions to overcome anxiety, depression, and negative thoughts.
Most of us are trapped in a roller-coaster of "automatic" thoughts, emotions, and actions. Try as hard as we might, when we see certain people or heard certain things, we get emotional. These intense emotions then trigger us to say certain things out of habit. We also often feel pushed to act a certain way. This all plays out so quickly we feel we really have no control about it. Very much like being on a roller coaster. Might as well just brace yourself for the ride, right? After all, it’s too easy to conclude that your "automatic" reactions of fear, anxiety, depression, or anger are simply part of "who you are as a person"!
Well, you don’t have to keep making the same wrong decisions over and over again. You don’t have to be miserable, powerless, or small. You don’t have to keep defining yourself as a person who doesn’t have much power over your life and your world. What if I told you that you can get off the careening roller coaster that is your life? What if you can put an end to negative emotional reactions that consistently and constantly put you in a bad spot?
The answer? Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is a one of the most respected, thoroughly tested, and vetted psychiatric counseling systems in existence. Countless people have been liberated from personal prisons of helplessness, powerlessness, failure, anxiety, depression, and compulsive behaviors. Best of all, CBT doesn’t necessarily involve mind altering medication, hypnosis, or electro shock therapy. Instead, CBT works with a very basic premise: Whatever negative thoughts, psychology, verbal and habitual behavioral patterns you have are products of how you choose to interpret situations. These interpretations, in turn, are products of certain "truths" you choose to believe.
CBT zeroes in on the central fact that you have a lot of choice in how your life plays out. By simply choosing to think in a different way and interpret certain experiences differently, you can produce a massive positive change in your life. You no longer have to feel like certain negative mental and emotional states are natural and "automatic" responses to certain triggers in your life.
This workbook teaches you key Cognitive Behavioral Therapy principles that will enable you to become a happier, more fulfilled, more effective, and more content person. Stop thinking that your world is spiraling out of control or you don’t have control over your life. This guide teaches simple clear techniques that will enable you to start living life to the fullest.

Useful information
A very informative course that introduces you to many tools available in books and ideas to improve my treatments across the many conditions I come across. Very clear and concrete practical guidance for daily life and setting out the theoretical underpinnings of the CBT model and carefully explaining the evidence base for the various techniques. I think it is a great self-help tool and can be used by everyone to evaluate their beliefs and perceptions of the world around them and how they interact with it. Gives a thorough understanding of how CBT works and the many different varieties of treatment and strategies that are available. It gives you surface-level knowledge of a range of ailments. It helped me a lot in understanding, myself and some of the people around me better, I'll probably listen to it again. Excellent book.

brief introduction to CBT for absolute beginners
This audiobook serves as a brief introduction to CBT for absolute beginners. It can also serve as a resource for therapists who want to help their clients use CBT to increase their levels of well-being. A good option for anyone who wants to listen and learn about CBT from the perspective of an expert. The book focuses, especially on anxiety, resilience, and self-belief. This makes it a good option for anyone who is already interested in mindfulness who wants to start learning about CBT and how it can benefit their lives. It teaches you useful and practical strategies that can be used in everyday life, even after the treatment has finished. This is a great book! Has balanced being thorough with giving me exactly the practical things I was looking for. This is one of the more uniquely structured of introductions I've come across.

a great book
This book is a good mix of academically-informed and accessible so the information continued within is accurate but easily-digestible. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that treats problems and boosts happiness by modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviors, and thoughts. I can learn steps and solutions in which to help myself rewire the brain so I will not be forced to suffer from my fears, depression, or phobias. It explains CBT step by step and it is very well written. This was a very well-presented set of lectures that was greatly enhanced by the presence of recordings of actual therapy sessions.A good practical book for those who are considering to become a patient or practitioner of psychotherapy. I recommend this to anyone with an interest in the topic or who enjoys psychology.

extremely helpful
This book was extremely helpful for learning the basics of conducting CBT with clients. Very helpful for the novice practitioner and the experienced clinician. If you are someone you know and love has any kind of mental illness this book will give you a lot of insight and help about getting real help. The book provides numerous learning tools to complement the text and they are woven into the book in a manner that enhances learning as well as the implementation of the model. There are practice exercises in every chapter allowing listeners to test their understanding and try out new skills. I particularly appreciated how they highlighted the important principles and techniques of CBT. Excellent tips on how to combat depression and anxiety. Learned a few new mechanisms to try out in the future. I recommend this to anyone with an interest in the topic or who enjoys psychology.

A simple steps provided
This book is designed for a person with basic knowledge of cognitive-behavioral therapy who want to increase or establish their skills. Even if you don’t actively implement the techniques you will still take something meaningful from the listening experience. This is a great book for learning about CBT. Whether you are a student of psychology or someone looking into treatment programs there is a lot to learn. The simple steps provided in this book can begin to help understand and work through various anxieties and depressions on many levels. Adds new material from research that has been conducted since the originators of this very effective therapy(ex.mindfullness) and understands new viewpoints to what's happening and what you can do. This book is exceptionally useful and educational for me. So, I highly recommend this great guide book.

improve levels of well-being
This is an excellent choice for anyone who cannot or does not want to necessarily be guided by a therapist, but still wants to follow a concrete treatment plan. The author also highlights the fact that even people who are not necessarily diagnosed with anything can use CBT to improve their levels of well-being. This book focuses on using CBT to increase your levels of confidence for the purpose of finding success in your life. This book is a good option for anyone who struggles with a generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and wants to put an end to their anxiety symptoms, including issues with fatigue and concentration. Clear, concise, relevant and overall great book especially for CBT trainees or those looking for an introduction to CBT.

a clear and informative
The book is written in a straightforward, clear, and personal manner that engages the listener while providing essential information. This book is rich with very practical, sensible and straightforward vignettes that we as clinicians can all relate to. It is researched by medical professionals is very interesting to me. I think that we need more study like this- more people open to different ideas. From this book, I'm getting a good understanding of what CBT is and what can be expected from it. A very well-presented set of giving instruction that was greatly enhanced by the presence of recordings of actual therapy sessions. I really liked this audiobook and would recommend anyone who needs such type of information. This audiobook helped me in realizing many things and where to focus once negativity will hit the ground. A wonderful resource to have and very informative.

help promote positive thoughts
This book provides you with tools to help promote positive thoughts which in turn helps the individual with their emotional reactions to situations. The book also includes a thorough case study, so therapists can see what CBT looks like in action. This book is not a comprehensive guide to learning CBT, but a supplemental resource which can help therapists develop specific treatment plans. It will help me more effectively deal with it in everyday life and will help me understand. It also represents a step-by-step program that listener can follow along with to improve their own lives and start getting over anxiety. You have to listen to it to gain an understanding of how our thoughts affect our emotions and include improving your self-esteem and developing emotional strength which I found very interesting.

A great reference
It was an amazing journey and although I have always been quite interested in psychology and learned about the Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, listening to this book and seeing living proof for the effectiveness was just so good. The purpose of therapy is to equip clients with applicable tools and interventions that they can put into practice. A great reference for those who simply want to change something about themselves - shyness, insecurity, any behavior that holds you back - it is much easier and more personal than counseling. A very informative course that introduces you to many tools available in books and ideas to improve my treatments across the many conditions I come across. If you're just looking to dip your toe into CBT, this would be a book to try. I would prescribe this book to anybody battling with any of these or basically might want to know more on conduct treatment.

Wonderful and very informative book
This is a great text for learning about CBT. Whether you are a student of psychology or someone looking into treatment programs there is a lot to learn. The idea that we can and should treat in all of these areas seems so intuitive, yet is something that isn't widely done. If you are learning CBT it would be a very useful addition, especially in how to conduct structured sessions. Provides an excellent job of presenting the key elements of CBT in a clear and concise way that is easy to read and digest. It offers plenty of examples and models on how to use CBT in practice. This audiobook helped me in realizing many things and where to focus once negativity will hit the ground. Now I'll apply what I listen in the book to start having a more positive life. Very helpful for the novice practitioner.
