About this listen
Almost everyone in Excelsior, Minnesota - craftsy and non-craftsy alike - has turned out for the art fair. So when an artisan is murdered there, the list of suspects is practically endless. Betsy Devonshire wants to help out in the police investigation. Her best friend, Officer Jill Cross, confides that they have a lead: A bloody footprint in the woodcarvers' booth matches that of a local youth. But when Betsy can't keep the news to herself, Jill gives Betsy the cold shoulder. Everyone's on pins and needles - and when the family of the kid in question asks Betsy to prove his innocence, she must first regain Jill's trust, then figure out who had designs on the dead designer.…

A bit low-key and meandering
Perhaps I’ve listened to too many of these, back-to-back, because this narrative was not fully engaging and none of the characters imbue you to truly care about them.
Therefore, even the perpetrator, when you discover who it is, doesn’t surprise or interest you! And the apprehension is not only low-key, but also very dull and boring!
The next few episodes of this series is not available on Audible, which is a shame.

Another murder mystery set around a needlework shop.
Another good story about Betsy Devonshire and her sleuthing skills. These are light and very enjoyable stories, and I’m getting quite fond of the characters now !

No mystery
It was too obvious whom the murderer were but it was still a cosy reade.

Well written and very enjoyable
I am really enjoying this series of books, and I always feel sad when they end. It is very nice to spend time in the company of these characters. In this book, in addition to the likeable central characters and the interesting murder mystery, I also enjoyed the intelligent down-to-earth common-sense insight into the business of modern art. The author writes very well, with real intelligence. There is no obscenity or violence in these books, thank goodness.
