Summary
USA Today best-selling series!
Southern belle Verity Long is back in business - as a ghost hunter. Now all she has to do is visit the town's creepiest mansion and exorcise a family of vengeful spirits. Piece of cake. After all, ghosts love her and need her...that is until she meets the ghosts of Rock Fall mansion. They'll do anything to keep their murderous secrets hidden within the cliffside fortress - even if that means getting rid of one meddling ghost hunter.
With the entire town skeptical and scrutinizing her every move, Verity struggles to uncover the century-old mystery behind the house. And when she stumbles upon a very fresh, very dead body, she realizes there's more to it than she ever imagined. With the help of her sexy cop boyfriend, Ellis, and her ghostly gangster sidekick, Frankie, she braves the overgrown gardens, the desolate family cemetery, and the haunted mansion that have been locked away for generations. But can Verity unearth the truth before she's the next one buried on the deadly grounds?

Creepy, creepy dolls!
In this instalment,Verity has launched her new business as a ghost hunter and gains her first client, investigating a house which has been locked up for almost a century after the deaths of almost the entire family. After the return of the father and uncle from an excavation into a tomb from ancient Egypt, there is no knowing whether a curse is responsible for the deaths or whether something else is afoot. Featuring gangster parties, exploring an abandoned big house, ancient Egyptian artefacts and creepy, creepy dolls, this instalment has the same mix of spooky, homey investigating mixed in with small town values, nosey neighbours and the blooming romance between Verity and her new boyfriend. It’s a cosy, easy listen. I really enjoy this series.

Another Frightening Good Mystery!
I bought this book for Kindle and Audible and I alternated between reading and listening to the story.
I love Ms Fox's writing style; I find her books very easy to read and I like the way she weaves all the elements of her stories together - the mystery, the strained relationship between Verity and the rest of the townsfolk of Sugarland, Verity's financial struggles and, of course, the ghosts and their issues.
As a narrated book, again I was impressed with Tavia Gilbert's performance; loving the pace at which she read the story and her tonal adjustments for the dialogue. I would definitely buy books narrated by her in the future.
In short, I really loved this story, although I feel it's more Gothic Horror than Cozy, it has everything that I look for in a 5star story; I laughed, I cried, I was on the edge of my seat (I was even scared at times) - I was gripped!
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries with a paranormal focus.

Lots of lighthearted fun
Creepy dolls. Lots of funny mobster ghosts, and one very evil ghost… this joins together in a book that I couldn’t put down. It entertained cover to cover.
This is a light read without sex and a wee bit of violence. There is a dash of love too. Lots of lighthearted fun and an afternoon of being transported to the South.
