Good information

As a teacher, I am really glad that I have learned about ODD through this book. We definitely had a student who wasn't diagnosed, and although we did our best with him, we know it wasn't enough and never really helped him achieve his full potential. I'll be trying to track down his mom to recommend this to her. I appreciated that this book showed not only information about the disorder, but the strengths that these tend to have. That is so helpful to make sure you don't just label them as 'difficult', but that you look for the benefits and work with the kids to bring those strengths out and help them flourish.

Mind-opening

Parenting a child with oppositional defiant disorder can be a challenge. Kids with oppositional defiant disorder argue, refuse to follow directions, and find joy in irritating others. This book helps you to start to understand them. You'll see that if you're the parent of a child with the disorder, you'll need a slightly different approach to discipline. Kids with oppositional defiant disorder can be smart, creative, and caring; this book will teach you interventions you can use to help them improve their behavior over time.

A Toolbox for Positive Parenting

I absolutely loved Rose Lyons' audiobook "Defusing Oppositional Defiant Disorder 7 Simple Strategies to Foster a Resilient Parent-Child Connection (Thriving Beyond Labels Toolbox)". Rose Lyons does an exceptional job of providing parents with the clarity and understanding they need to foster trust and cooperation with their children and build a strong parent-child connection. One of the highlights of the audiobook was the focus on emotional resilience and positive parenting; I particularly appreciated the emphasis on creating an environment where kids feel seen, understood, and loved, rather than concentrating on "managing" or "controlling" oppositional conduct. I was also delighted by Amanda Jo's narration, which was reassuring and empathetic. I would highly recommend this audiobook to any parent looking to build a strong and resilient parent-child connection
