Summary
Being a blood-spatter analyst who hates the sight of blood has always made Dexter's work for the Miami PD tough. But it means he's very neat when it comes to his out-of-hours hobby: murder. Of course the fact Dexter kills only bad people helps, too.
Now Dex is facing a disturbing situation. He's used to blood at work and blood when he's out with the dark passenger (the voice that guides him on his deadly outings). But he's not sure what to make of the man who says blood is art. Using bodies as his canvas, someone is out there expressing himself in the most lethal and painful of ways.
If Dexter's to escape the scalpel and avoid becoming the latest exhibit, he needs somewhere to run...and he might just have found the perfect place. With his wedding looming, completing his nice-guy disguise, Dexter's honeymoon might just save his skin.
From the most original voice in crime fiction, Dexter by Design is an enthralling, macabre and gruesomely entertaining thriller.
Narrated by the author.

mid range middle book
Not the best of the stories, but an enjoyable listen as the narrator is fabulous and I'm eager for the next instalment given the cliffhanger!

Honeymoon Homecoming Horror
Dexter is married!
After enduring Rita's dream Parisian honeymoon, our hero is home and looking to pursue his homicidal hobby as well as helping his new family to further their own ongoings. But there is another plan afoot and it catches Dexter by surprise; even the dark passenger seems at a loss.
Another glorious romp with our blood hating serial killer delightfully read by the author, Jeff Lindsay. The writing is good, the humour bubbles throughout the story but what makes this such an excellent listen is Jeff Lindsay's narration. He really is Dexter with all of his self examinations and expectations. He turns a good READ into a joyously delightful listen.
For the book alone, I would not have scored this nearly as well starred, but the narration pushes it easily nto a five star rating
Love this series.

Has Dexter Met His Match?
A fascinating mixture of high tech drama and old school slaughter, the story wends it's way to a gory if artful crescendo and even then there's a twist. Classic Dexter 👌

Much, Much Better
A tremendous improvement over the embarrassing previous entry in the series. The later side-quest with Kyle seemed rather pointless, but overall a welcome return to form.

Great story
I've been listening to these books since the new Dexter show came out in 2021. iv really enjoyed the differences between the series and the books.
This book was quite interesting but wasn't as impacting as book 3. I think the next one should be even more interesting and I look forward to it.

still hooked, just.
other characters voices were all too loud in my opinion and the story was a little dull, compared to earlier books.
On to the next...
