Summary

Parenting is the most challenging job there is. Parenting teenagers is even harder!

It is your role to help your teen transition into adulthood. But how? This audiobook will help guide you through the sometimes tumultuous waters of parenting a teenager!

Parenting is the most challenging job there is—you are in charge of caring for another human being.

Your child's future depends on how well your methods nurture them during their development years.

But no matter how much effort you exert in making sure your child grows up into whatever you want them to be, some factors make it hard for things to happen the way you want them to.

The teen years can be overwhelming for your child and can be daunting for you.

Thanks to hormones, puberty, and other biological and environmental factors, you have a child who is still in the process of letting go of childhood but is not yet ready for adulthood.

Teens have a lot of things on their plate, which leads to extreme emotions manifesting in violence and anger.

If you have a teen who is always angry and engages in trouble, you might not know how to respond in a conscious way that won't make the situation worse.

This is an unfortunate reality shared by millions of parents and teens. A study found nearly 1 in 12 teens has an anger disorder, and more experience angry outbursts at some point during adolescence.

This is when you break the cycle of anger, help your child connect to their true self, and manage their emotions.

Strategies for parenting teens may have come a little late, but you're in luck. Studies have been conducted to develop science-backed teenage anger management methods.

This guidebook will walk you through all the valuable and practical information for your teen's angst. Inside, you'll discover:

  • Anger management 101: understand the root cause of anger in your teen and the importance of becoming aware of your own parenting style for your child’s wellbeing
  • Three practical strategies for you and your teen to better manage anger, regulate emotions, and become mindful of yourselves and your surroundings

Amazing toolbox!

The factors that make teens face such turbulent emotions in this period prove there is no magical recipe to avoid it! However, I'm surprised by how many adequate resources I found in this book. It is very well structured and covers a wide range of relevant topics, such as personal experiences, exercises for self-awareness, gratitude, and anger management strategies. Amazing toolbox!

Great strategies for a calmer house

Teenage girls can make a house....challenging at times. This book had some great practical strategies for calming angsty teens so that my house can be a bit less crazy. I want our home to be a calm and relaxing place for us to all feel comfortable, but it doesn't always work out that way when you have angry teens. I'm excited to implement these strategies to make things more peaceful at home.

Establish Trust

An angry teen who engages in trouble can be challenging to discipline in a way that won't worsen things. And as parents, who are in charge of caring for and moulding another human being, this can be daunting.

I love that the author placed a great emphasis on empathy- understanding the root cause of anger in your child, and awareness- that our parenting style affects their emotional and mental coping and well-being. Only when you understand that things become easier to deal with. Thanks to the strategies laid out in this book, I was able to protect my relationship and establish trust and an even stronger bond with my nephew.

Tackling the root of the problem

I have 5 step children and at times it is really challenging for me, but understanding generational anger has really helped. I have a great understanding of where they're anger is coming from by learning about past family anger issues. I never really thought about that part. This book was very enlightening, learned so much.

Teen tantrums

This audiobook has super useful advice on how to respond to teen anger and tantrums without making things worse, which is always probably the biggest struggle, based on your teen's individual triggers and ways of responding to them, and staying present and conscious through observation. Lots of potential in this book to help make things better.

Useful for a very difficult life stage

The teens stage is every-bit was difficult as they say! This book was a fantastic listen in particular around teen anger, and understanding when to lean in (hugs) vs when to give a timeout. It’s helped me understand the triggers of anger even better than imagined.

Love it

One of the hardest jobs for parents, in my opinion, is raising teenagers. Why some want to argue with you and criticize everything you say or do, others feel excluded or prefer to be by themselves. The teenage body and mind are explored in great detail in this audiobook. The reasons behind their fury, the importance of getting enough rest, and mind-resetting are also covered. Teenage parents can benefit from this audiobook as a resource.
