About this listen
Life is full of surprises. Motherhood, in particular, holds the power to shock and awe. Especially when your bundle of joy is...not quite what you expected.
Contains mature themes.
©2020 Black Dog Books, LLC (P)2020 TantorAs I borrowed How To Rattle An Undead Couple book through my Kindle Unlimited subscription, I added the narration at the reduced cost. However, I ended up listening to the story rather than reading it. This is only the third time I've heard Rebecca Mitchell and I enjoyed her performance once again. I like the pace at which she reads a story and the emotions she put into the narrative. Rebecca was able to adjust her voice slightly when reading the dialogue, to make it easier to distinguish male from female characters. However, separating Grier from Lethe or Hood from Linus, for example, wasn't quite as easy.
Although Grier Woolworth is only in her early 20s, I love how she's continued to grow and evolve as this series progressed. She has all the personality traits that I crave from a female protagonist plus her sense of humour makes me chuckle. Grier is intelligent, resilient, resourceful and has plenty of gumption. Linus has the traits that that set off all my girly parts as well as warm my romantic heart. I love him too.
This is the third and final of the "epilogue novellas" that aim to tie up a few loose ends and give us Grier's and Linus's happy ever after. However, Hailey hasn't closed it down finitely. The world surrounding our Undead Couple, family and friends in Louisiana is still going on - just without us.
A Fitting End To This Undead Journey.
