About this listen

Sweetpea TV series starring Ella Purnell coming out on Sky Atlantic in October!

She’s back and killing for two…

Rhiannon Lewis should be happy.

Her cheating fiancé is in jail – framed for the depraved killing spree she committed. Her ex-lover is chopped up and buried where no-one will find him.

But there’s one small problem. She’s pregnant.

And as much as Rhiannon wants to continue working her way through her kill lists, a small voice inside is trying to make her stop.

Now Rhiannon has to choose – motherhood or murder.

I have been waiting for this book for a while after the 1st 1 and will now be waiting for the next with anticipation. A great story with dark humour, loved it.

Fantastic

Enjoyed this book as much as the first in the series (must listen in order, so Sweat Pea 1st). Narrator very good too.

As good as the first

A lot more sinister than the 1st book but had to listen to it as the book before ended on such a cliffhanger!!

Brilliant!

I loved the twist of the story from the killers angle. This wasn’t a gory book at all, but an deceptively light read for such dark subject matter. Great one to binge if you love a good thriller, with great narration and pace.

Wonderful dark, amusing take on a serial killer

Listened to this and Sweet Pea back to back. Never heard anything like these books, memorable and unique for all the right reasons.
I have to say that the narrator and the books were made for each other, it wouldn’t have been the same without that absolutely fantastic narration. I am thinking of reading the book myself to see how it flows in text form as the narration was so ‘real life’ flowed like a conversation rather than someone just reading it to you.
I loved the hilarious observations made by the main character throughout (the sort you do secretly make yourself in your head when people annoy you and then mentally kick yourself for being such a horrible person) made me laugh out loud.

Memorable & Unique

the 1st book I found the main characters swearing/crudeness/rashness immature and unnecessary I gotfrustrated with her alot. in this book she has matured and is working through the complexities of being a nice person who wants to be normal aswell as being a psycho and knowing normal isn't possible . the dialogue between the character and her womb dweller is hilarious and dry. katie drucker that f*cker was a moment that made me giggle x

2nd book of the series - better than the first

Such a great story, cleaver witty and thrilling. Can’t wait for more new releases and stories to enjoy

Brilliant funny and enthralling

A bit like a British suburban Villanelle, Rhiannon is a cartoon character who nevertheless fascinates and amuses, especially with her sharp line in insults.
I will order the 3rd installment now but suspect that the voice might become stale after that. Great fun.

Rhiannon!

I really hope you read the first book Sweetpea, prior to this as In Bloom is a brilliant sequel!
At times you cringe with the violence, but most of the 'victims' deserved it. Additional bonus, our killer is an animal lover. I can't recommend this book enough for all of us with a dark sense of humour!

Absolutely gob smackingly brilliant!!!!!

I loved Sweetpea which I read when it first came out, the first book in this series and found the main character Rhiannon amusing and terrifying all at the same time, so I had been looking forward to a sequel. As sequels go this is a rather good one, there are points in the middle where the story felt a bit slow and I definitely thing there the author could have raised her game a bit because there was no way the second novel was going to have the same shock factor as the first purely because it was the first. I did enjoy this book, I just wish it had been.... more.

An enjoyable listen, and the narrator does a fantastic job, I would recommend but I do feel that maybe I was hoping for a little bit more in the second book.

A nice follow up novel
