About this listen

A murdered student. A troubled cop. An estranged child.

Reeling from a recent shocking revelation, DI Simon Fenchurch is struggling to hold it all together. Over a decade of tension, pain and fury could make him explode.

When a university student is found strangled to death in her bedroom, Fenchurch is called in to investigate—and the case strikes dangerously close to home.

On the surface, the victim was a popular, high-performing student. But as Fenchurch investigates, he uncovers secret grudges against her. And evidence that she was living a double life, working on explicit webcam sites for a seedy London ganglord.

Everyone Fenchurch talks to knows a lot more than they’re willing to tell, and before long he’s making new enemies of his own—threatening to push him and his family past breaking point.

With too many suspects and not enough facts, Fenchurch knows his new superiors are just waiting for him to fail—they want him off the case, and off the force for good. With his family in more danger than ever before, how deep is Fenchurch willing to dig in order to unearth the truth?

Perfect for fans of Ian Rankin, Mark Billingham, JD Kirk and Alex Smith, In For The Kill continues the bestselling Detective Simon Fenchurch series of gritty police procedurals.

Stick with it

I love Ed James books but this series, although a little frustrating at times is worth the effort and I’ve really invested in the characters. Angus King brilliant as ever. On the the next one

Another Cracking Book

Initially I wasn’t sure if I would like this series, but each time by the end of the first chapter I was hooked. I was also worried that the main characters personal issues would overshadow any plots and perhaps become annoying - but so far there is a decent balance. Angus King narrates this series brilliantly and as usual he makes the characters jump out from the pages. I’m also delighted that bk 5 is available right now. Happy listening/reading.

Totally enjoying the Fenchurch series

Angus King could read the phone directory and make it sound interesting. He's by far the best narrator I've heard to date.

Why oh why?!

Listened till the last 45minutes and then called it a day. By then, I’d just had enough of the swearing, cursing and general foul language seemingly used to climax the story. I don’t and won’t pay an annual subscription to listen to this debase language. Story line was OK
