Summary
New Yorker Faith Astor is a successful fashion photographer. Living in Manhattan and parading glamorous parties, she seems to have it all, yet nothing could be further from the truth. When a female personal trainer shows up on New Year’s Day, she regrets booking the kick-start session in a drunken haze, but the woman likes a challenge and won’t take no for an answer.
After years of struggling with an eating disorder, Silva Carter finally has her life back on track. With a careful balance of exercise, healthy living, and a strict routine, she keeps her anxiety at bay, but breaking her ankle forces her to let go of the control she so desperately needs. As she's unable to tackle the staircase in her apartment block, her beautiful client Faith offers Silva her spare bedroom for the duration of her recovery, and they soon learn they have more in common than they realized.
Faith is fascinated by her cute trainer, who seems to understand her better than anyone else, and for the first time, she finds herself attracted to a woman. But after a run-in on a high-profile photoshoot, that could be the least of her worries.

Lise Gold at her best
I love it when Lise Gold writes about difficult topics. She has a light touch that makes the point and at the core is heart warming. A true delight.

Utter class as always
Totally amazing and an important story. Moving and powerful messages about eating disorders and body image. Could be triggering, in fact I felt concerned early on in the book about where it was going... But it is so well crafted and beautifully written. Their relationship is very healing and super super sexy. I love this book. One of the very best x

wow amazing book. I binged it
Written so beautifully. This is the 3rd novel written by Lise Gold that I have listened to. She tackles hard issues really sensitively and weaves through difficult topics very well. I enjoy all the characters. She writes the best lesbian love stories I have read.
This book I actually had the opportunity to listen to in one go. Currently have covid, so haven't got the energy to do anything else.... certainly brightened a miserable day. I rarely get the chance to binge listen to a book, but so glad I was able to.
Narration is good, with different voices for each character which helps with the visualisation.

dealing with this topic in such an indepth way, I hope helps those with low self esteem, the writing is excellent, and we should all remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
plus the narrator is my favourite
