About this listen

Mortuary technician Cassie Raven believes the last thoughts of the dead linger like static in the air....

Cassie has always had a strange affinity with death, ever since her parents were killed in a car crash when she was four. At least that's what she grew up believing....

But that was a lie. Cassie's father is alive. He was convicted of murdering her mother and spent years behind bars. Now he's out—and he's looking for her.

He swears he didn't do it. And Cassie wants to believe him.

To find the truth, she must turn detective. As she seeks answers, help is to be found in inexplicable places—for the dead are ready to talk.

Cassie is a likeable character and the book is engaging. Love the compassionate perspective. I’m off to download the next one. Hoping for some romance with the lady copper!

Good book, good series!

A very emotive & captivating series. A good variation on the usual murder procedural novels.
The books are well written with excellent narration.
I hope there will be many more to come.

Refreshingly Different.

Initially I wasn’t sure if i liked this book as I had the first perhaps because the crime aspect wasn’t flagged from the first. However, after the first 30-45 minutes things kept being added into the story. By the time it got to the end I was thinking‘bloody brilliant’.

Kept going

I really enjoyed this second in the Cassie Raven series. I look forward to no. 3!

As good as the first book!

The main character Cassie is a mortuary assistant, doing autopsies, so be warned, some of the descriptions of her work could be upsetting for some. The 2 main protagonists are interesting
and there is some gentle humour. Storyline keeps you engaged and you actually learn some interesting facts (well I did) a little far fetched in places, but it is fiction! Good narration, I look forward to more in this series.

Would recommend

This was the 2nd in series by this author. I had been impressed with the 1st in the series too. The reader is tremendous, bringing the characters to life, with ample emotion and conviction. The use of words and imagery is at a level you would want, to entice you into the story. Just a very easy listen, thoroughly enjoyable. An author to look out for again. Recommend first in series too, both equally as good.

Well read, well written and intriguing storyline

I was looking forward to this after the first book but to start with I wasn't too sure about it. I'm very glad I stuck with it though as it is really good. Can't wait for the next one. I do hope that Cassie and Flyte will get together even if it's only once and they pretend to regret it.

Interesting and Unexpected Second Book In The Seri
