About this listen
Three stories, brought together in one edition, from 'crime-writing genius' Michael Connelly.
In the title story, a fatal accident on Mulholland Drive turns out to be part of an ingenious plot - but is it too ingenious? In Two Bagger, a dedicated cop working for the Gang Intelligence Unit finally gets the payoff he's worked so hard for - but it's not what he's expecting. In Cahoots, a team of scam artists meet for a high-stakes poker game but who is scamming who? Read by David W. Collins. David W. Collins began building his voice-over career almost 10 years ago, performing in numerous radio spots, video games, national TV commercials and phone systems. Before relocating to Los Angeles earlier this year, David was seen in a theatrical run at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and performed the National Anthem as a soloist at various sporting events around the San Francisco Bay Area.

"Nobody goes to Las Vegas."
Too quickly over (at only one and one half hours), Michael Connelly has given us three short but fulfilling stories of death:
- Cahoots
- Mulholland Dive
- Two Bagger
None feature Harry Bosch or his brother, the Lincoln Lawyer, but all are fun, nicely written and well read by Daniel W Collins.
Expensive, perhaps, but still a must read for all Connelly fans.

Good, but I wish I'd read other reviews first..!
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
I miss Peter Giles' voice who read the previous two Michael Connelly books I bought. Sorry, David Collins' voice just didn't do it for me personally.
Any additional comments?
Like others before me, I made the mistake of using a credit for a 1.5 hour book - I was click-happy, what can I say!?!
The stories are ok, but as I usually find with short stories in any genre/author they're always missing something. I have more questions and always feel that the story is either rushed or unfinished or both! This I'm afraid is the same.
When it comes to books, I'm a "completer", so if I like an author I end up getting the whole collection... warts and all - this book and indeed the other two short story collections count as a wart :(

Short!!!
Only 30 minutes long. Don’t waste a credit thinking it’s a novel length recording. Take care.

Narration put ne off
Sorry, but the narrators voice was so flat and the intonation all wrong.
No depth to the story so a bit disappointing.
