I love a good romantic suspense so while there were definitely elements I enjoyed from this book, there were also a few aspects that fell a bit short for me. The main plot definitely became overloaded with numerous amounts of subplots that IMO was unnecessary and disrupted the flow of the story. This led to some uneven pacing, and I felt certain sections could have been more concise. I will continue with the series. Great job from the narrators.

I'm so used to reading the wild , crazy romances sp this was slow, but that's not necessarily a negative. I did think it was suspicious how quickly Jude became fixated on the girl, so when his past came out I expected it, but he was very calm even then.

Interesting twist on a romance

First title I've read by this author and description held promise but couldn't finish it.
The hero fell in love with the heroine on the first day. he moved himself into her house and was talking like they were getting married after only knowing her a couple of days.
there was no concerns about getting involved with a person from one of his cases and some of the stuff he'd say just came across cringeworthy to me. it felt like there was a whole chunk missing of character development, where they developed feelings for each other.
can't decide if it was the book itself or the female narrators bad male voice that made me not warm to him as character. might be a book better to have read than listened to.
