About this listen
This audiobook contains mature language and themes, including references to suicide.
Do you worry about your relationships? Or do you avoid thinking about them altogether? Do you feel others are there for you if you need them? How do you think your childhood impacts you and your relationships?
Please Find Attached explains all. Listen as seven brave people talk candidly about their upbringings, their loves and their losses and undergo formal assessments into their relationship patterns. As we delve deep into their lives, Laura Mucha explains everything you need to know about Attachment Theory, the most well–researched relationship science, and how it can make sense of our lives.
Similar to The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read by Philippa Perry and The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel A. van der Kolk. Please Find Attached will help you understand Attachment Theory, explore why you think, feel, and behave the way you do, and help you have better relationships as a result.

Theory is interspersed with long-running real-life interviews of characters that reappear each chapter to illustrate a point, in a way that brings what the author is teaching us to life and makes you really care about the interviewees. I will remember their stories and progression a long time after the book.
The author and narrator’s voice is good to listen to, and her emphasis and intonation adds to the understanding and never detracts.
I have already recommended this to a friend experiencing family relationship issues as providing a clear framework through which to understand them. It should be required reading for everyone!
Couldn’t recommend this book enough

Excellent research

I knew a little about attachment theory before downloading this - as in, new it was a ‘thing’ and some generalisations about it. The genius about the author’s work here is how she has distilled the academic side of it into a clear and approachable (but not dumbed down) narrative, and how she has woven that through the personal stories of the interviewees (which in themselves would make a worthwhile novel). Can’t recommend it more highly.
Illuminating and insightful. Download it!

I'm fascinated by attachment theory and after listening to this, realise I have been totally getting it wrong - as have lots of professionals! Really important book.
Great listen - loved the interviews combined with thorough but accessible research. Highly recommend.
