About this listen
There were shadows I was running from. Ones that haunted and taunted. Ones that made it so I had no choice but to disappear.
I’d spent years hiding from the world. My little island haven, the only assurance of safety.
It all changed the moment he showed up at my door. The hint of pain in his eyes told me that something haunted him, too. And I couldn’t help but be drawn closer.
But finding the person I needed most came with risks I never expected. And when our ghosts find us again, neither of us may make it out this time.

Great Narration of a great story
I love Ava Erikson and Sebastian York as a narration duo. they really bring the characters to life.
I love both Shay and Brody and their complex backgrounds. I think the way Shay over comes her past and supports Brody through his current nightmare is lovely.
Their love story was written beautifully!

Amazing book
I can’t say enough good things about this book and series. The emotional investment in this series is so rewarding. The characters draw you in and keep you hooked from the first page to the last. The sense of community you feel whilst reading these books especially this one, show you what an amazing world Ms Cowles has imagined. I’ll definitely be rewarding and listening to these books many times int he future. Wonderful narrators too. I loved their voices

Wonderful Story
Catherine has written another wonderful book in the Wrecked series.
For Shay it is all about remaining in background, anonymous and leading a quiet existence. She lives on Harbor Island as the caretaker, an idea place to hide from the tragedies that have happened in her life. Until a new owner occupies the island and then her safe haven is disturbed.
Brody is an artist and the new owner of Harbor he moves to Harbor to look for more inspiration to his work. A talented artist is intrigued by Shay and her life on the island. His creativity is inspired when he gets to know Shay.
As Brody gets to know Shay he realises she is hiding from a dark past and wants to protect her.
Can Shay's past catch up with her as she develops feelings for Brody and begins to open herself to make friends?
The book is an amazing read with suspense, twist and turns along the way.
Cannot wait for the next book!
Narration was great, expressive and clear.

Totally wrecked!!
Catherine Cowles has done it again! Pulled me into one of her original stories, and made me feel part of it! This is the fourth book in the Wrecked series and each is incredible! We meet Shay and Brody in this one. Both with unspeakable pasts, very broken, unwilling to share or trust and definitely not willing to fall in love. Until it happens. Now, faced with danger, we need to see who is behind it, and how it will all play out. I love strong female leads, and Shay is certainly strong. Willing to stop living a full life to survive, she puts one foot in front of the other everyday to help chase the demons away. Brody is running, and landing on the island could be the answer or his demise. He is swoony and brave. I love them both, and especially enjoy getting to see the characters we have gotten to know in the previous books. It's a pleasure to get to witness how their lives are turning out. Pick up your copy of Reckless Refuge, you too will find this love story exciting, suspenseful and romantic!
You cannot have a more perfect team than Ava Erickson and Sebastian York. These seasoned performers know exactly how to root into the minds of their characters and give them each the best voices. From the riveting suspense to the unmistakable romance, these two bring it alive. It's always an enjoyable listen with these two.

What a wonderful addition to a favorite series
Wow! What a wonderful addition to this series. Reckless Refuge is a complete standalone but we do get a cameo or two from some familiar characters.
Shay McCabe is caretaker on a private island off the coast of Washington. She is a bit of a recluse and keeps to herself, not letting anyone close enough to see what she was hiding and hiding from.
“The only thing those scars prove is that you can walk through fire and survive I can’t think of anything more beautiful than that.”
Brody James is both running away from something and also searching for peace and the return of his creativity. He buys the island and keeps Shay on as caretaker. The attraction is immediate but they both fight it in the beginning.
We look out for our own.”
And I was one of theirs. A member of this pieced together family. One that wasn’t linked together by blood but by choice. And wasn’t that the greatest gift of all?”
I loved the suspense in this story. I was kept guessing till the very end. I listening to this story on audiobook and the narration was great, entertaining and engaging from start to finish.
