About this listen

Through Commodore Slater’s efforts, humanity’s war with the council is over. He gave Earth the tools it needed for victory, but at a great cost to himself. The Franklin was destroyed, and his core is slowly dying.

Discovered by those who seek to use him for profit, Slater is taken to Sarton Station. His captors intend to use him for their own amusements, but they have made a deadly mistake. They have placed a derelict core right where he wants to be, in a station surrounded by all the salvage and biomass he needs to recover his mind and rebuild the Franklin.

Slater needs to work quickly, as a new threat emerges from the darkness of space, a threat more deadly than the council, a threat that has its sights set on Earth.

Nice ending to this chapter

I enjoyed this series more as the series went on, with this one the most. It does feel like this can go on and on and I hope it does.
my only recurring issue is having to speed up the narration to make it sound more natural. if you find this off-putting try it yourself, it definitely helped me.

Great Addition!

What I love about this series as it progresses is that it manages to stay fresh. This is the third book in the series and at the end of the second, I wasn’t sure quite where the story would go or how it could go on but the answer was no only satisfying, but it was a very enjoyable journey through it all.

I really enjoyed this one and Jack did a great job of the narration yet again. I’m now looking forward to the fourth book!

Awesome narration, great story

I absolutely love the narration by Jack Voraces.
Also the story was something I've never seen before. Not even close.
Very unique and therefore very entertaining. Only let down for me is that it is very America focused (his choices on ship designs for example).

Would recommend!

A good continuation to the story and I will definitely read the next one (if there is one)!
To me personally, some passages felt slightly repetitive, but I think this is just the speciality of the genre.
The performance by J. Voraces was excellent, as always!
All-in-all would recommend for sure for those who had read and enjoyed the first two books. I some regards this one was even better that the second book.

Superb Sequel

Absolutely brilliant. Ingenious story arc following the second book. Took me by surprise and managed to incorporate everything I loved about the previous books from a completely new angle. If Dean can do this for book three then there’s nothing stopping more instalments of the Franklin surely..?
